Although Vermont Health Careers Awareness Month wrapped up on October 31st, we’re still reflecting on the inspiring stories shared — including one from our very own Sara Gosselin, Radiologic Technologist at Springfield Hospital.
A proud Vermonter, Sara has dedicated 16 years to caring for patients through mammography and diagnostic imaging. Her passion and commitment remind us of the many rewarding healthcare career paths available right here in Vermont.
Thank you, Sara, for all you do for our patients and community!
Today, October 31st (BTW Happy Halloween!), is the last day of Vermont Health Careers Awareness Month. I never tire of reading the stories from health professionals-(many of them vermonters-born and raised) decision to live and work in our beautiful state. There are so many opportunites to pursue a health career pathway right here in our own backyard, and multiple entry points to get there. The journey is never easy, but in the end it is worth it.
It is fitting we have a vermonter Sara Gosselin, Radiologic Technologist with Springfield Hospital, Inc. - VT for the final story.
"My name is Sara Gosselin, and I was raised in Fairlee, VT. Being a Vermonter, it was important for me to choose a career path that would benefit our local Vermont communities. My senior year in high school, I wasn't sure what career I wanted to pursue, so I went to school locally to achieve my degree in Radiography. It turned out to be a career I love and have been actively doing for the last 16 years. For a two-year degree, it has offered me many avenues in healthcare, including X-ray, Computed Tomography, Mammography and Bone Densitometry. My primary specialty is Mammography. Helping local women beat cancer and continuing to see them year after year for routine screening, is the most rewarding part of my job. We are fortunate in this area to have many small, community hospitals, where you can see the difference, you make by building relationships with your patients."
Thanks Sara for making that choice to pursue a health career. Clearly your work has made an impactful difference in the lives of so many.
