Did you know that black farmers only make up less than 2% of the farming industry, not only that, black farmers face racial discrimination in agriculture, exclusion from federal relief programs, loans, etc. In a clearer view they're 3.4 million farmers in the United States today, only 45,000 are Black, according to the USDA, down from 1 million a century ago. Black farmland ownership peaked in 1910 at 16 to 19 million acres, about 14 percent of total agricultural land, according to the Census of Agriculture. TAG a friend to help our fight. 🌽🥕🥦🌳🍑👨🏿‍🌾

Guess what we found in our backyard? A peach tree!!!!!! We have decided to use the tree propagation method. Tree propagation is a method is by clipping the plants and letting the branches sit in water for at least 10 days. After we will plant to grow our peach trees. Let’s hope for the best! 🍑🌳

Brownstone Farms is a Half-acre Regenerative Urban Farm located in Osceola Arkansas. Brownstone was founded to: mitigate food insecurity in Mississippi County Arkansas, preserve the environment while lowering the carbon footprint; promote health, economic development, youth outreach, healing, & creativity through urban agriculture.

In our partnership, we will work together in the “Next California” Project ( https://youtu.be/B07ADXy7rsk )to buy necessary supplies and services, as well as distribute, market, and sell our products. We will also collaborate to build the “Seeds of Promise Youth Initiative” to address and prevent issues such as mental and physical illness, high school drop-out rates, teen pregnancy, juvenile delinquency, violent crimes, and recidivism, thus providing opportunities for economic empowerment, social-emotional intervention, life-skills, financial literacy, and education/trade skills.
