Did you know that Active Hydrogen Water is considered Medical Water and can be carried on an airplane???🤯

Dehydration is a major issue when travelling by airplane. This is due to spending long periods of time in a climate-controlled environment where the relative humidity can be as low as 10-15%, which is three times drier than the Sahara desert.

On an average 10 hour flight, men can lose approximately two litres of water and women around 1.6 litres. This means that on a London to Sydney flight a passenger could lose up to 4 litres and 8% of their bodily water. Just a 2% loss of hydration can negatively impact brain function.

Who doesn’t love a red summer fruit salad?

The color isn’t the only fun thing about this combination. Watermelons get their red color from lycopene, strawberries and raspberries get their color from from anthocyanins, which when mixed with the increasing sugar in the ripening berry turns the fruit red.

Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant with many health benefits, including sun protection, which makes sense that Mother Nature would make this a summer time fruit.

Anthocyanins have been reported as having the capacity to lower blood pressure, improve visual acuity, reduce cancer cell proliferation, inhibit tumor formation, prevent diabetes, lower the risk of CVD modulate cognitive and motor function. These are also reported to have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial activity.

🧘🏼‍♀️Wellness is more than just 1 thing🧘🏼‍♀️

Health has been a journey for me. Starting with fitness and exercise, then my focus was nutrition/supplements, next stress management became SUPER important, and oddly enough the most vital resource for the body was last for me, water, is now something I am very passionate about. 💦

Our bodies are 70% water yet 75% of us are chronically dehydrated (I was one of them) Just a 1% decrease in hydration can impact brain functioning and ability to focus. 🧠

But not all water is created equal. The ability of a water molecule to pe*****te your cell and actually hydrate you is important. Ever drink a big glass of water amd then feel it sloshing around in your gut? 🙋🏼‍♀️ This is not hydrating you, that’s what I like to call “water belly” it’s just sitting in your stomach.

Here are just a few reasons why I love my home water system:

-my machine creates active hydrogen which is so small it can cross the blood brain barrier and even get into the mitochondria of your cells, fully hydrating you. The hydrogen acts like an antioxidant flushing toxins out of the body! Just 16oz of hydrogen rich water has the same effect as eating 5lbs of blueberries!!! 🫐💦🫐💦

-it also filters out the Chlorine from City tap water that is used to disinfect your drinking water. Things like Bromodichloromethane, Chloroform, and Trihalomethanes are a biproduct of treating drinking water with chlorine, potential effects=cancer.

My favorite summer poolside snack.

Cowboy caviar is always a big hit and I almost always make it different every time depending on what I have in my kitchen. You can also make it ahead of time. I actually like it better the next day😉

This batch I used black beans, corn, red onion, red pepper, green pepper, cilantro, and avocado. Tip (save the avocado until you’re ready to serve) Squeeze a little lime juice and olive oil over it and salt and pepper to taste.😋

Happy Tuesday Friends!

I thought it was Monday for a second because it’s the start of the week. I love some motivation any time of the week.

Which brings me to this....are you in love with you’re own life? What you are creating. Being in love is so good for you. It holds you in a better vibrational place. Things that bothered you in the past start to fade and the things you’ve been wanting all along now can come forward.

I thought it was Monday for a second because it’s the start of the week. I love some motivation any time of the week.

Replenishing my adrenals this morning. Sometimes you need sweet potatoes and peanut butter for breakfast 😍

But seriously, if you are a Doer like me and you find that your energy isn’t as high as it normally is, sleep in, take that rest time, your body is telling you something.

Just a few foods from the to super charge my morning. Sweet potatoes, banana, peanut butter, cinnamon, sea salt, and a little raw honey. Oh and don’t forget the celery juice.

Mixing salty snd sweet foods help to nourish your energy stores and give you life 💖. Happy weekend friends. @ St. Louis, Missouri

Yoga is my Therapy

When I started practicing yoga I was looking to gain flexibility and implement a type of exercise that was gentler on my body. I had no idea the positive effects it would have on me mentally (Yay bonus!). It’s incredible when you find that perfect pose that feels effortless where you could just “hang out and eat a sandwich” as one of my teachers would say😉.

The whole practice of yoga is connecting the body, mind, spirit, and breath. Below are a few ways yoga helps with mental health.

~ It moves you from the sympathetic nervous system to the parasympathetic nervous system, or from flight-or-flight to rest-and-digest. You typically have less anxiety and enter a more relaxed state. As soon as you start breathing deeply, you begin to calm down.

~ It helps you build your sense of self. Through yoga, you get to know yourself and cultivate a healthier relationship with yourself. You are building self-trust.

~ It improves your relationships. When you’re more centered and more peaceful with yourself, you’ll be the same way with your relationships—you’ll have more compassion and unconditional love.

Yoga could be your answer to start feeling better mentally. Do you yoga?

Welcome to Fit Food and Flow

My 25 year fitness/wellness journey has lead me to create this page. I have learned that we need 3 things to bring the body back into balance. Physical change such as exercise, yoga, or acupuncture. Chemical change like nutrition, supplements, and proper hydration and quality of water. Lastly Emotional change with things like meditation, EFT, or MDR. If you can get 2 of the 3 of these components in balance the 3rd one will come around.
