Today our Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellows & Attendings traded scrubs for turnout gear! Thanks to several of our local Fire and EMS agencies, who generously took time out of their day to guide us, our Physicians learned how to breach doors, search smoke‑filled rooms, run a cardiac arrest in motion, triage CO exposure, and perform rope rescues. 🚒🚑
These lessons build skill, confidence, and respect for the first responders who serve our communities every day. We’re thankful for the chance to learn from the best!
Special thanks to Rock Community Fire Protection District for hosting the event - as well as crew members from Rock Township Ambulance District - RTAD, Maplewood MO Fire Department, Valley Park Professional Firefighters Community Outreach, Olivette Firefighters Community Outreach, and Pacific Fire Protection District for sharing your skills & knowledge!
Thank you Stryker Emergency Care for bringing cardiac monitors & Woodard Cleaning & Restoration for providing lunch!
