In today's episode of how hospitals (and insurance companies) are not the good guys:

A family got labs done at a local children's hospital and after insurance their charges were over $700.

I can get the same labs for under $20.

You might wonder why you would 'pay for a doctor when I have insurance' but this is just one example of how private docs can save you a ton.

🚨 Norovirus Alert! 🚨
I’m seeing a lot of cases of norovirus right now. This fast-spreading stomach bug causes vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps—and it’s highly contagious. Here’s what you need to know to protect your family:

✅ Wash hands frequently – Soap & water are effective. hand sanitizer has little to no effect!
✅ Disinfect surfaces – Norovirus is tough and lingers on surfaces for days.
✅ Stay hydrated – Small sips of electrolyte drinks help prevent dehydration.
✅ Keep sick kids home – They’re contagious for up to 3 days after symptoms stop.
✅ Avoid shared food & drinks – Even a tiny amount of virus can cause infection.

If your child shows signs of dehydration (dry mouth, no tears, few wet diapers), call your pediatrician. Otherwise, rest, hydrate, and ride it out—most kids recover in a couple of days.
