At Cedarhurst, we believe our communities are more than just a place to live, it’s a place to call home. We know and believe that a real home isn’t just four walls and a place to hang your hat. Home is a place where friends and family gather, a place to entertain and share stories, a place for baking, playing games, gardening, exercising and most importantly -a place to thrive! Cedarhurst believes

in supporting a strong local community and encouraging our residents to stay involved with the community through events, outings and activities. We help build strong family relationships before, during and after the transition by offering support and including the family members in our care plans. Most of all, Cedarhurst is able to help you maintain your independence while offering safety, support and a more carefree lifestyle.

“Go Baby go!”

Since 1875, the Kentucky Derby has been known as the “most exciting two minutes in sports.” What began as a horse race at Churchill Downs turned into a tradition full of cheering crowds and colorful hats.

That spirit carries into Cedarhurst communities in its own way. Some residents watch the race together while others join the fun by dressing up for the occasion. However the day is celebrated, Derby traditions always seem to bring out smiles and a little extra
excitement.

Cedarhurst of Crown Point is officially open.

The grand opening brought together residents, families, and local community members for an afternoon that marked an important milestone.

A highlight of the day was the appearance of Southpaw, the Chicago White Sox mascot, who brought a lot of energy and smiles to the celebration.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate. It meant a lot to share this moment with the Crown Point community.

Families were invited to Cedarhurst of Yorkville to spend time together enjoying puzzles.

Laughter, a little friendly competition over who finds the next piece, and plenty of smiles all around. Puzzles are great for keeping the mind active and supporting memory. But the real fun comes from sharing the moment together. The race to place the final piece is just the cherry on top.

Give this a ❤️ if you enjoy solving puzzles!

A little sunshine goes a long way. ☀️

Just a few minutes in the sun can help boost mood and support vitamin D, which is important for bone health and overall wellness. That’s one reason residents love spending time in the courtyards across Cedarhurst communities. Whether it’s a quiet moment with a cup of coffee or simply enjoying the fresh air, there’s always a sunny spot waiting outside.

Walk through a community and there’s a good chance you’ll spot a dog making its morning rounds or a resident proudly introducing their furry best friend to someone new. Pets have a way of bringing people together. A quick stop to say hello can turn into a full conversation.

At Cedarhurst communities, pets aren’t just allowed. They’re part of the rhythm of the day, and honestly, things feel a little brighter when there’s a wagging tail nearby.

A visit to the Fast Lane Classic Cars Museum brought plenty of smiles at Cedarhurst of Wentzville.

Rows of polished classics sparked conversation and brought back memories of cars admired through the years. Residents spent time exploring the museum and reflecting on how much these vehicles meant during earlier chapters of life.

Moments like this remind us how powerful a familiar sight can be.

Educators from the Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield brought along some fascinating guests, including a Swainson’s hawk, a carrier pigeon, and an Easter Egger chicken.

Fun fact: carrier pigeons have an incredible sense of direction and can find their way home from hundreds of miles away.

Moments like this keep curiosity growing and learning alive at Cedarhurst.

“You don’t need much to grow something wonderful,” she says.

This Earth Day, Cedarhurst of Arnold resident Karen shares a little garden wisdom. 🌎🌱

Coffee grounds and crushed eggshells help enrich the soil naturally, while herbs like basil, dill, sage, and mint invite pollinators into the garden. Karen also prepares her beds through the winter so spring can bloom strong.

“The violin sings what the heart can’t always say.”

For John, that has always felt true. His love for music started in a school classroom when a teacher noticed his natural talent. His father believed in him so much that he bought him a 1904 Juzek violin, a handcrafted instrument from Europe that John still treasures today. That violin has been by his side ever since.

As a teenager, he played with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and even met his idol, the legendary violinist Isaac Stern.

Now at Cedar Creek of Franklin, just months away from turning 93, John practices daily and loves playing for fellow residents. For him, music has never been about fame. It’s been about connection and doing what he loves.

Music often fills the community with energy. When a favorite song starts playing, it does not take long before someone begins to tap their foot or invite a friend to dance.

Fun fact: The brain can recognize a familiar song in just a few seconds, which is why music can instantly shift a mood or bring a memory rushing back.
