Cedarhurst Senior Living We believe our communities are more than just a place to live, they are a place to call home

At Cedarhurst, we believe our communities are more than just a place to live, it’s a place to call home. We know and believe that a real home isn’t just four walls and a place to hang your hat. Home is a place where friends and family gather, a place to entertain and share stories, a place for baking, playing games, gardening, exercising and most importantly -a place to thrive! Cedarhurst believes in supporting a strong local community and encouraging our residents to stay involved with the community through events, outings and activities. We help build strong family relationships before, during and after the transition by offering support and including the family members in our care plans. Most of all, Cedarhurst is able to help you maintain your independence while offering safety, support and a more carefree lifestyle.

Cedarhurst communities have continued walking, raising awareness, and showing incredible dedication to the cause. Several communities have already completed their walks, with more still scheduled in the weeks ahead.

Together, Cedarhurst has now raised $73,941 in support of the Alzheimer’s Association — a powerful reflection of the compassion and commitment shown across all communities.

Thank you to everyone who has participated, donated, or cheered from the sidelines. Each step moves us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

Happy 102nd Birthday, Nadine!

Born on October 24, 1923, in Boxfield, Kentucky, Nadine has lived a life full of kindness, hard work, and grace. After an early setback that kept her from finishing high school, she went on to build a strong career with GE as a Tube Tester and Group Leader—one of Owensboro’s biggest employers at the time.

After retiring, Nadine dedicated over 30 years to volunteering at the local hospital, continuing to care for others. She’s a proud mother to two children, Donna and Ron, and loves spending time with her four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Today, Nadine still gets up and dressed every day, enjoys her meals in the dining room with her friends, takes daily walks, and loves reading. Nadine describes her life as “simple—nothing fancy.”

Join us in wishing Nadine a very happy 102nd birthday! 💐

Curiosity doesn’t fade with age—it thrives in communities built on connection, discovery, and purpose.

That spirit was on full display during a Historic Bus Tour in Topeka, where residents filled every seat for a guided journey through local landmarks. Led by Bob Totten, Executive Director of the Shawnee County Historical Society, Cedarhurst of Topeka explored sites from Gage Park to the Ritchie House, learning the stories that helped shape their city before ending the day with cake and shopping at House to Home.

It was more than a trip—it was a celebration of lifelong learning and the meaningful experiences that make life at Cedarhurst truly memorable.
