Lake Havasu showed up and so did we! 🙌

Yesterday, our Lake Havasu Branch attended a Dementia Education Event as one of the top sponsors, and we are so proud to support such an important cause.

Jennifer absolutely crushed it with our table setup — Beacon was shining! ✨ And we were so thankful to have some of our amazing volunteers there helping us connect with the community. 💚💙

✨ Employee Spotlight: Melissa Barnes, CNA ✨
📍 Bullhead City, AZ Branch

Melissa has been a dedicated member of our Bullhead City team for a little over a year. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she is passionate about caring for others and walking alongside patients and families during one of life’s most difficult seasons.

To Melissa, hospice means being present — offering compassionate care, emotional support, and empathy while helping families navigate the end-of-life journey. She values building meaningful, trusting relationships and believes deeply in providing dignity, comfort, and respect to every patient she serves.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her animals and relaxing at the river with friends. She is currently pursuing nursing school to further her education and expand her ability to provide skilled, compassionate care.

We are so grateful for the heart and dedication she brings to our team each day. 💙

We’re grateful for the opportunity to join WGIL 93.7 FM and 1400 AM to talk about something that impacts so many families — understanding hospice care.

Our own Scott Swiler from Beacon of Hope Hospice, LLC sat down to address common myths, explain how hospice is covered by Medicare/Medicaid, and share what families should know before a crisis happens.

Hospice is not about giving up. It’s about comfort, dignity, support, and quality of life.

We are committed to educating our communities so families can make informed, confident decisions when it matters most. 💚

🎧 The link to the full interview is available on the original WGIL post below.

For many families, the word "hospice" feels scary and final. But hospice care is actually about extending quality of life and supporting families through difficult transitions. Scott Swiler from Beacon of Hope Hospice, LLC talked with Chris Postin about common myths, how it's paid for (100% covered by Medicare/Medicaid), and what every family should know before a crisis hits.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Sherry Bidwell ✨

Meet our Volunteer Coordinator in Lake Havasu City, AZ! 💙 She’s been part of the Beacon family for nearly 5 years and brings such heart to everything she does.

For Sherry, hospice is personal. After walking through hospice care with her own mother, she believes hospice means love and support for patients and families right where they are. She wants every patient to look forward to a volunteer visit — whether it’s a listening ear, a favorite game, or simply someone being present.

Ten years ago, Sherry felt called to serve the elderly. She spent five years in the school district as what she calls her “training ground,” before God led her to Beacon of Hope Hospice as our Volunteer Coordinator. Sherry doesn’t see hospice as a job… she sees it as a ministry. 💚

We are so grateful for her compassion and dedication every single day.

Last week we had the best time at Arcadia Care at Aledo sponsoring a life-size Hungry Hippo game for their residents! 💚

Seeing the laughter, friendly competition, and pure joy fill the room is exactly why we love what we do. Hospice care is about so much more than end-of-life support — it’s about living fully in every moment.

Thank you to the incredible staff and residents for letting us be part of such a fun day!

✨ Employee Spotlight: Alicia Bangert ✨
Outreach Coordinator | Galesburg

💚 A Personal Fact About Alicia:
As a mom to a child with a heart condition, Alicia has learned what it means to advocate fiercely and love deeply. That experience has shaped the way she shows up for families with empathy, strength, and understanding.

💙 Why Hospice?
Alicia chose hospice because she believes no family should have to navigate life’s hardest moments alone. Watching families care for someone they love reminds her how sacred and powerful those bonds truly are. Her role allows her to educate, advocate, and be a steady presence during uncertain times. Supporting families with compassion and respect isn’t just her job — it’s something she truly believes in.

We’re grateful for the heart she brings to Beacon of Hope every day.
