Looking for blessings in the midst of suffering.
Three fractured vertebrae, pain killers, and waiting to get into the doctor, have slowed me down quite a bit. I dare say, my present circumstances have pretty much brought me to a complete stop.
Thursday when I received more CT results, I cried out, "God, what are you doing?"
If, when, I get an answer I will let you know.
Until then, I hold tight to His word and His promises. For now, I rest in His promise that what Satan intends for harm, God will use for good. (Genesis 50:15-20, Romans 8:28).
As always, His Word provides me with a peace that passes all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
Manage the pain. Stay alert and active. How you ask? For me, these last few days, I have engaged in a simple heartwarming task. I found a task that requires little effort but brings great joy, many smiles and plenty of opportunities for prayer. Please know, my prayers include prayers for those of you dealing with the effects and side effects of cancer.
Here goes:
I found a free google app called PhotoScan.
For years we have had photos stored in boxes in the basement, gathering dust. Remember the days when you had to get the pictures developed before you knew whether it was worth keeping or not? And, as parents, busy raising the kids we told ourselves: "one day I am going to put them in photo albums and organize them for our kids."
Now, moving into the 21st century, I am taking this opportunity to scan old photos of our children, bringing sweet memories to the forefront of my life. Changing my focus from pain to sweet blessings from the Lord. I and making them accessible to our children and grandchildren, hoping to bring smiles to them as well!!!!
If you have any ideas, feel free to share them!
May you find rest, comfort and peace in God our Father, the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:1-3
