Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

2 Corinthinians 1:3-6.

Is the Lord prompting you to share how He has comforted you? Let us encourage one another.

Looking for blessings in the midst of suffering.

Three fractured vertebrae, pain killers, and waiting to get into the doctor, have slowed me down quite a bit. I dare say, my present circumstances have pretty much brought me to a complete stop.
Thursday when I received more CT results, I cried out, "God, what are you doing?"

If, when, I get an answer I will let you know.

Until then, I hold tight to His word and His promises. For now, I rest in His promise that what Satan intends for harm, God will use for good. (Genesis 50:15-20, Romans 8:28).
As always, His Word provides me with a peace that passes all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)

Manage the pain. Stay alert and active. How you ask? For me, these last few days, I have engaged in a simple heartwarming task. I found a task that requires little effort but brings great joy, many smiles and plenty of opportunities for prayer. Please know, my prayers include prayers for those of you dealing with the effects and side effects of cancer.
Here goes:
I found a free google app called PhotoScan.
For years we have had photos stored in boxes in the basement, gathering dust. Remember the days when you had to get the pictures developed before you knew whether it was worth keeping or not? And, as parents, busy raising the kids we told ourselves: "one day I am going to put them in photo albums and organize them for our kids."
Now, moving into the 21st century, I am taking this opportunity to scan old photos of our children, bringing sweet memories to the forefront of my life. Changing my focus from pain to sweet blessings from the Lord. I and making them accessible to our children and grandchildren, hoping to bring smiles to them as well!!!!

If you have any ideas, feel free to share them!

May you find rest, comfort and peace in God our Father, the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:1-3

In our weakest moments, when the pain, the disease seems to be winning this battle for life and when, most certainly it seems to have conquered the battle for quality of life, I am forced to pause. I sometimes question God's presence. He is faithful to remind me: He is ever present! He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. He empowers me and challenges me. I will not allow the heaviness of pain to cover up or dim the light of His glory that lives and reigns in me. I am reminded of my salvation, the pain and suffering that my savior endured for me, for you, for all of mankind. Thank you Lord that You never leave us and You never forsake us!!!
For my friends fighting this battle, I feel compelled to share a sweet joy this week. It was in this moment of despair, a moment that gave cause for the pause, that I heard a small voice challenge me with a very simple question: "what small thing can I do for myself today?"
My husband had brought in and washed some fresh rosemary from our herb garden. So, I googled Rosemary and discovered that it helps with pain and stress. So, I set about removing the dry leaves from the stems. With my hands, stained with the natural oils of Rosemary, I poured on a few drops of Olive oil and rubbed them on a painful area. Yes! I experienced some relief. There is a DIY recipe with two simple ingredients. If you have Rosemary available try it out. Let me know if you find relief. I am praying today for you today!
