We are excited to announce the release of our Executive Board and Brigade Leader applications for the 2019-2020 school year!

Joining our Exec Board or becoming a Brigade Leader is a great way to get more involved in Global Brigades and expand your leadership skills! We encourage everyone to apply to the Executive Board; however, you must have gone on a previous brigade to serve as a Brigade Leader.

Applications are due April 10, 2019 by 11:59 pm. Please download and fill out the Word document in the link below and email it to washugb@gmail.com.

We are excited to announce our first Local Brigade of the year, which will be a half-day trip to Casa de Salud! Our tentative date is Saturday, October 27th, from 9am-12pm.

Casa de Salud is a nonprofit medical clinic located on SLU's campus. This clinic provides flat-rate care to uninsured and undocumented immigrants. We will tour the facility and meet with representatives to learn about various volunteer opportunities available to WashU students. Global Brigades and Casa de Salud have collaborated for many years because of our aligned missions to provide healthcare to underserved communities, and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership.

Join Global Brigades for our first local brigade of the year! On Saturday 10/27, we will visit Casa de Salud, a clinic serving the underinsured immigrant community in St. Louis, and learn about various volunteer opportunities for students.

This year, WashU Global Brigades exec members, Matt & Sydney, took first-year students on a half-day excursion to Casa de Salud, which is a nonprofit medical clinic located on SLU's campus. This clinic provides flat-rate care to uninsured and undocumented immigrants. The group took a tour of the facility and got to see the numerous volunteer and internship opportunities available through Casa!

BRIGADE SPOTLIGHT: MEDICAL/PUBLIC HEALTH

The medical/public health hybrid brigade combines the experiences of both the medical and public health brigades. It gives participants the opportunity to explore the treatment of existing conditions and the prevention of new ones. For those who what a holistic, diverse experience relating to medicine and public health, this brigade is on target.
