Getting ready for your pet’s surgery day? 🐾

Here’s what to expect:
• Drop-Off: Arrive with plenty of time to get your pet settled.
• Prepping for Surgery: Your pet will receive a physical exam to ensure everything is set for anesthesia.
• Surgery: Rest assured, your pet will be closely monitored throughout.
• After Surgery: Once awake, your pet will move to a recovery kennel for a smooth transition.
• Pickup: Expect a groggy pup; give them time to recover, and know our team is here for any post-op questions.

Have questions about the surgery process? We’re here to guide you every step of the way!

May have been an April fools joke but perhaps the Easter Bunny will make it real 🤞🏻

This was supposed to go up for April fools day but illness got in the way - it was too good not to share though……

Following extensive multidisciplinary collaboration between orthopaedic surgery and anaesthesia, we are delighted to announce the launch of our newest innovation:

The TPLegO™

Developed specifically for surgeons required to endure the psychologically challenging interval known as “waiting for the anaesthesiologist between orthopaedic procedures”, this educational and therapeutic model has been engineered to reduce perioperative surgeon distress.

Common indications include:
- repeated glances at the theatre clock
- unexplained pacing near prep
- excessive enquiries regarding “how much longer?”
- acute list-delay intolerance
- anaesthesia-induced impatience syndrome

The TPLegO™ provides a structured, hands-on coping mechanism during these high-stress periods, allowing surgeons to simulate a TPLO while the actual patient is being safely stabilised, analgesed, blocked, positioned, monitored, and maintained at a standard above “it’ll probably be fine”.

Early pilot studies suggest significant reductions in:
- audible sighing
- corridor hovering
- passive-aggressive comments about theatre flow
- impulsive attempts to induce anaesthesia independently

Designed in conjunction with IT and perioperative behavioural science teams, the TPLegO™ is now available as part of our Surgeon Stress Mitigation Program.

Because good anaesthesia takes time.
And apparently some surgeons need enrichment activities 🤷‍♀️
