Welcome to – Where We Talk About What Really Happens Behind Closed Doors

In this week’s episode of Open Bedroom Doors, resident s*x therapist Angela Skurtu opens up the conversation on confidence, pleasure, and what it really means to be yourself — in and out of the bedroom.

Segment 1: S*x Positions — “Eat the Damn Crab Legs!”
Angela kicks off the show with her unfiltered take on those ridiculous dating articles that tell you what to eat on a first date. From the story of her first date with her husband to why authenticity matters more than appearances, she reminds us: if someone judges your meal, they’re not your person.

Segment 2: Interview with Shane from River Rose Bo***ir
Angela sits down with Shane Michaels and his assistant Jade, owner of River Rose Bo***ir, to talk about how bo***ir photography helps women reclaim their confidence, embrace their s*xuality, and rewrite the narrative around body image. They dive into the misconceptions men often have about bo***ir and how this art form is really about empowerment, not objectification.

 Segment 3: Listener Questions — “Why Can’t I Or**sm During S*x?”
Angela answers a listener’s question about why some women struggle to or**sm during penetrative s*x. Using her trusty v***a puppet, she breaks down the real science behind female pleasure, cl****al stimulation, and why slowing down, communication, and full-body intimacy matter way more than we’re taught.

If you’re ready to get real about s*x, confidence, and connection — this episode is for you.

📸 Why do women choose bo***ir photography?

It’s rarely about looking “s*xy enough” for someone else.
More often, it’s about reclaiming their body, marking a transition, healing after loss or betrayal, celebrating confidence, or finally seeing themselves through a kinder lens.

On this week’s Open Bedroom Doors show, I sit down with Shane Michael of River Rose Bo***ir Photography to talk about what actually brings women to bo***ir—what they’re hoping to feel, and why being seen on their own terms can be profoundly empowering.

We explore how bo***ir can be an act of self-trust, self-expression, and embodiment—not performance.

🍝 What should you eat on a first date? 🍔

I hear this question all the time:
“Should I order something light?”
“Nothing messy?”
“Something s*xy?”

Here’s my professional opinion as a s*x therapist:
👉 Eat whatever you want.

If someone is judging your worth, desirability, or compatibility based on your food order, that’s not dating advice—that’s a red flag. First dates aren’t auditions. They’re information-gathering.

Comfort, authenticity, and enjoyment matter far more than performative daintiness. The right person is curious about you, not monitoring your fork.

In this week’s Open Bedroom Doors show, we talk about how these small “rules” women are taught—about food, bodies, and behavior—quietly bleed into our s*x lives and relationships.

🔥 So… why DO women choose bo***ir? 🔥

It’s not for their partner.
It’s not because they “finally feel confident.”
And it’s definitely not because life is calm and perfect.

On this week’s Open Bedroom Doors, I sit down with Shane Michael of River Rose Bo***ir Photography to talk about the real reasons women say yes to bo***ir sessions.

✨ After divorce
✨ After babies
✨ After trauma
✨ When they’re tired of hating their body
✨ When they’re ready to reclaim their desire and power

Bo***ir isn’t about posing s*xy—it’s about being seen, owning your body, and choosing yourself in a world that keeps telling women to shrink.

If you’ve ever thought, “I want to feel like myself again,” this conversation will hit.

✨ Why some women can’t or**sm during s*x (and why it’s not “all in your head”) ✨

Many women struggle to or**sm not because their bodies are broken—but because their nervous systems are overwhelmed, disconnected, or focused on performance instead of pleasure. Stress, people-pleasing, pressure to “hurry,” past s*xual experiences, relationship dynamics, body image, and lack of cl****al stimulation all play a role.

Or**sms don’t come from trying harder. They come from safety, presence, curiosity, and permission to listen to your body’s full yes and full no.

In today’s Happy Endings segment, I talk about what actually gets in the way of pleasure—and how we can shift from “doing s*x right” to experiencing s*x honestly.

Stop Putting Your Relationship on the Back Burner 🍽️🔥

Between work, kids, stress, and a never-ending to-do list, most couples don’t drift apart because they don’t care…
They drift apart because their relationship keeps getting postponed.

That’s exactly why I created "Dinner with a S*x Therapist." You can come this Valentine's Day, 2/14/26 from 5-8pm at Adventure Unknown.

This isn’t a heavy therapy session.
It’s a fun, playful, meaningful night out where you get to:
✨ Laugh together
✨ Learn something that actually helps your intimacy
✨ Reconnect emotionally and physically
✨ Talk about s*x in a way that feels normal, safe, and even exciting

Your relationship deserves more than leftovers of your time and energy.
It deserves intention, presence, and a little spark.

So consider this your permission slip to stop putting love last…
and start putting your relationship back on the menu.

Dinner with a S*x Therapist =
Good food. Real talk. Fun connection. Practical tools.

Because great relationships don’t happen by accident.
They happen when you show up for them. 💛

Why Some Men Sometimes Can’t Or**sm (And Why It’s More Common Than You Think)

Quick myth to bust:
If a man can get aroused or maintain an er****on, he should always be able to or**sm… right?
Not necessarily.

Here are a few very common, very human reasons this happens:

• Stress & Performance Pressure – When your nervous system is stuck in “do mode,” your body isn’t in “pleasure mode.”
• Anxiety or Overthinking – Worrying about doing it “right” can interrupt the body’s natural or**sm reflex.
• Medication Side Effects – Antidepressants, blood pressure meds, and others can delay or block or**sm.
• P**n or Stimulation Habits – Some bodies get used to a specific type of intensity or rhythm that’s hard to replicate with a partner.
• Emotional Disconnection – Feeling distant, resentful, or unsafe in the relationship can show up in the bedroom.
• Medical or Hormonal Factors – Testosterone levels, nerve issues, and chronic health conditions all matter.

The big takeaway:
Trouble or**sming isn’t a personal failure.
It’s a body communication issue — and it’s highly workable with the right support.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken.
You’re human. And there are real solutions.
