🍀 St. Patrick’s Day Fun at Our Florissant Center! 🍀

Our Florissant participants had an exciting and festive day filled with creativity, laughter, and a little bit of luck! 💚✨ The day kicked off with crafting beautiful shamrocks, allowing everyone to express their creativity and work on fine motor skills.

Then came the highlight of the day… a treasure hunt! 🪙 Participants searched high and low to find the most “golden coins” (sweet treats, of course 🍬). The room was filled with smiles, friendly competition, and lots of cheering each other on!

To top it all off, we made a delicious St. Patrick’s Day trail mix 🍀🥨—a fun and engaging activity that encourages independence, sensory engagement, and teamwork.

Days like these are so important—they keep our participants active, socially connected, and full of joy while creating meaningful memories together.

🚐☀️ Smiles for Miles in St. Charles! ☀️🚐

Our Florissant participants hit the road for a scenic drive to beautiful St. Charles—and what a day it was! From historic streets to charming sights along the way, there was so much to take in and enjoy. 😊

The best part? The laughter, conversations, and smiles shared throughout the ride. Outings like this give our participants a chance to explore the community, enjoy a change of scenery, and stay socially engaged—all of which are so important for emotional well-being and quality of life.

Sometimes it’s the simple things—a sunny day, a good view, and great company—that make the biggest impact. 💚

Creativity was in full swing at our St. Louis center as participants worked together to design and decorate their own bandanas! 🎨🧵

From choosing colors to adding personal touches, this activity wasn’t just fun—it was meaningful. Crafting helps improve fine motor skills, encourages self-expression, and creates a sense of pride and accomplishment. Most importantly, it brings everyone together for shared moments of joy and connection. ❤️

At St. Elizabeth’s, we believe activities like these help keep minds engaged, spirits lifted, and communities strong.

Last month, we had the privilege of welcoming 8th-grade students from St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School to our Arnold Center for a special “Urban Plunge” experience—and the impact is still being felt. ❤️

The day began by honoring our foundation and mission. We shared the story of Sister John, who founded St. Elizabeth in 1981, and reminded everyone that our work is rooted in caring for God’s people—being a voice for the voiceless. Every day, our staff walks alongside Christ as they support adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities, as well as those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

But this day was about more than learning—it was about connection.

The students jumped right in alongside our participants, forming a circle for a fun and meaningful game of chair soccer. As the ball moved from person to person, everyone shared something about themselves—their hobbies, interests, and joys. In those moments, something powerful happened: barriers disappeared. The students quickly realized what we see every day—our participants are full of life, personality, and joy… just like them.

Weeks later, the impact became even more clear.

We received heartfelt letters from the students sharing how eye-opening the experience was. Many spoke about how their perspective changed, how much fun they had, and how meaningful it was to connect on a human level. Some even shared that this experience inspired them to consider a future in service to others. 🙏

We were also incredibly touched by their generosity. The students presented St. Elizabeth’s with a $150 donation as part of their mission project—a meaningful gesture that reflects both their compassion and commitment to serving others.

They also recognized something we’re incredibly proud of—our staff. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment to serving others did not go unnoticed.

This is what our mission is all about—bringing people together, building understanding, and living out faith through action.

We are so grateful to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque for spending the day with us and embracing the spirit of community, compassion, and service. 💙

☀️ Enjoying the Fresh Air at Our Arnold Center! ☀️

Last week our Arnold participants took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed outside for some fun and activity! Participants enjoyed time under the covered patio playing games, tossing the ball over the net, moving around, and cheering each other on. It was a great way to stay active while enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. 🏐

Outdoor activities like this are an important part of what we do. Fresh air, movement, and light exercise help improve mood, support physical health, and encourage social interaction among participants. Staying active also helps maintain strength, balance, and coordination—important parts of maintaining independence and overall well-being.

Most importantly, activities like these bring smiles, laughter, and a wonderful sense of community. It was a beautiful day filled with movement, encouragement, and fun!

🎣 Gone Fishin’ at Our Ste. Genevieve Center! 🎣

Our Ste. Genevieve participants had a reel-y great time casting their lines and enjoying a fun fishing activity right inside the center! 🐟💚 From friendly competition to lots of laughs, this hands-on activity brought out smiles and great energy all around.

Activities like this do more than entertain—they help improve hand-eye coordination, support focus and cognitive engagement, and encourage social interaction among participants. Whether it’s “catching” the biggest fish or simply enjoying the moment together, these experiences build confidence, connection, and joy.

And let’s be honest… it doesn’t get much better than a little fishing fun with friends! 😊

🎪🎯 Carnival Fun at Our Arnold Center! 🎯🎪

Step right up! Our participants at St. Elizabeth’s Adult Day Care Center in Arnold recently enjoyed a brand-new activity that brought the excitement of the circus carnival right into our center.

Our staff created a Circus Carnival Shoot-Out Gallery, complete with targets like duckies, a lion, stars, and bullseyes, each with different point values. With classic circus music playing in the background, participants took turns aiming and cheering each other on while trying to score the highest points.

One of our older participants became emotional and shared, “This reminds me of the carnivals I would go to when I was a girl. Thank you!” Moments like that remind us just how powerful activities can be in bringing back memories, joy, and connection.

This creative game has quickly become one of our newest and favorite activities, giving everyone a chance to have fun, stay engaged, and relive wonderful memories together.

🍀 St. Patrick’s Day Fun at Our St. Louis Center! 🍀

Our St. Louis participants got into the spirit of the season by creating their very own St. Patrick’s Day hats! 🎩✨ From shamrocks to bright green designs, each hat was full of personality, creativity, and plenty of festive cheer.

Activities like this aren’t just fun—they help support fine motor skills, encourage creativity, and spark meaningful social interaction among our participants. Most importantly, they bring smiles, laughter, and a sense of pride in what they’ve created together. 💚

☘️ Getting Ready for St. Patrick’s Day at Our Arnold Center! ☘️

Our Arnold participants had a great time making St. Patrick’s Day decorations this week! Using green and gold tissue paper, everyone worked carefully to create festive leprechaun hats, shamrocks, and pots of gold that will help brighten the center for the holiday. 🍀

Arts and crafts activities like this are an important part of what we do each day. They help participants practice fine motor skills, encourage creativity, and give everyone a chance to stay engaged and active. Just as important, these moments create opportunities for conversation, laughter, and a sense of accomplishment when each project is finished.

Celebrating holidays together also helps spark memories and keeps traditions alive while building a warm, joyful community here at the center.

We love seeing the creativity and smiles that come from activities like these! 💚
