Roots Renewal Counseling Offering compassionate online mental health services to residents of Oregon and Missouri.

Roots Renewal, founded in 2011 by Stephanie Stockham-Ronollo, M.A., Licensed Professional Counseor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), is committed to offering healing services to the Saint Louis community and worldwide via offering individual and couples counseling, group leadership, and well crafted on-line mental health resources. Through her community work, Stephanie assists individuals and couples who suffer from the symptoms of anxiety, depression, difficult relationship dynamics, grief, loss, procrastination, and trauma. Roots Renewal holds a perspective that the mind, body, and spirit are connected and that the health of one directly affects the health and function of the other parts of the whole. Stephanie draws upon the both Dr. John Gottman’s research and the Imago relational model in her work with couples. She assist couples in developing stronger communication skills and greater intimacy in relationships. In addition, Stephanie utilizes Energy Psychology, a clinical modality that combines the stimulation of acupuncture points with the mental activation of targeted psychological issues.

Hello All: The world is CHAOTIC with a capitalized every letter right now. I did a short podcast with our local Bend radio show about the symptoms of PTSD, what causes it, and how to get help with this VERY treatable mental health concern. Also, we are now offering EMDR Intensives (more information in the link below) in person in Bend or online in Oregon, Missouri, and Colorado. Basically 3 hours of an intensive equals 5 hours of therapy. They are pretty great. I hope that you are receiving a whole lot of love and support to more through this time in life.

Bend, Oregon has faced heavy smoke for quite some time. But yesterday, for the first time in what felt like ages, we were able to enjoy clear blue skies and safely step outside. Seeing the blue skies reminded me that during challenging times, it often feels like they’ll never end. Yet, just like the smoke, everything eventually passes with time. ❤️❤️❤️.

Rachel, 28 prides herself on being honest.

She grew up in a home with a very blunt mother. Her mom had no filter and everyone always knew how she felt. Rachel developed the same habit. She had no issue telling you how she felt or what she thought.

When she meets Kai, she engages in her same pattern of brutal honesty. She holds nothing back when they move in together and says: “you’re a slob and I can’t live this way. I will not take care of another adult. You need to pull your weight.”

Kai feels hurt. He’s sensitive and voices that how hurt he is.

Rachel is caught off guard because she’s uncomfortable with vulnerability. “Im sorry but it’s the truth. Do you want me to lie?” Is her response.

Kai appreciates her honesty but wishes she was aware of how the way she spoke impacted others.

Rachel isn’t aware that her honesty has fractured every relationship she’s had. She uses it to protect herself. She tells herself “people just can’t handle the truth!” because she tears being vulnerable enough to reflect on her behavior.

She hasn’t learned the skill of communicating a message that allows a person to feel valued and understood.

She clings to her version of honesty that allows her to feel both “right” and in control
