Our December member spotlight is Robin Wright! Robin has been a nurse for 11 years all spent in the OR and is currently in the SSM float pool where she spends many shifts at Cardinal Glennon and loves pediatrics! She recently earned her CNOR and will be going for CPN soon. She is an avid animal lover with two cats and a dog. She enjoys playing and coaching volleyball, crafts, a foodie and in several book clubs!

Robin oversaw a huge food donation effort for our chapter this month. Not having a goal in mind she had a "let's see what happens" mentality. She set up a Venmo account to make donating easy for her co-workers, created a flyer with a QR code and was able to share it amongst other members of the OR float pool. She saw a need for not only food items but house hold and hygiene items as well. She collected money and went shopping for those in need. Robin was able to procure over 350 POUNDS of items for the food bank!! Not only does Robin take care of children and families at work she is caring for them our community as well. We are proud of her for her efforts and proud to have her a member of our AORN community!

This year we have the opportunity to sponsor three members to attend AORN Expo in 2026 in New Orleans! We presented the winners with certificates at our December meeting.

Last Friday our President Samantha Willis and Educator Lindsey Justus took 406 pounds of food and supplies to the St. Louis Area Food Bank! Our members collected items in November and December and we were more than excited to bring our collection to them!

Members braved the cold to attend the last meeting of 2025 this past Thursday. Thank you to Stryker for hosting us and teaching us about the adjunct technologies out there to assist with counting in the OR.

In addition to education and fellowship, we were able to collect food, toys, gifts and cards that will be given to members of our community in St. Louis. Thank you to all our members for their generosity during the holiday season. We're proud to have members who already give themselves as nurses day in and day out to give of their time and resources to help others in need in the St. Louis area.

This December we are helping out those in our communities in several ways and you can help at our upcoming meeting!

1. We are collecting items for the Pregnancy Assistance Center in Washington, MO. There are still many items on the wish list. If you didn't get a card at our last meeting the center is looking for unwrapped toys, clothes for children and adults, diapers, snacks and gift cards to stores and gas stations. 2. Food drive! We are collecting canned/non-perishable food items on Thursday. Bagged them up and bring them Thursday. We will be distributing them to food banks next week.

3. Christmas cards for nursing homes! At our November meeting we had cards for people to fill out. These will be distributed to local nursing home residents. Didn't get any cards? No problem! If you have one at home bring it with you!

We are very excited to help out in the St. Louis area this holiday season and we thank our wonderful members in helping with great causes!
