Women’s History Month | STL Black Biz Edition
Spotlight: Robin Smith

This Women’s History Month, we proudly honor Robin Smith, a true St. Louis media legend whose work helped shape how our community saw, heard, and understood the world around us. Beginning her journalism career in 1974 at just 19 years old, Robin became the youngest on-air television personality in St. Louis, breaking ground early and setting a powerful example for those coming behind her.

Many of us grew up watching Robin on our TV screens. For well over 30 years, she brought consistency, grace, and excellence to the airwaves. But Robin Smith’s impact goes far beyond the anchor desk. She helped set a standard in local media that still resonates today, and for little Black girls watching, she represented possibility.

During Women’s History Month, we celebrate Robin Smith not only for her career achievements, but for the lasting mark she has left on St. Louis.
