We are only 8 weeks away from our 1st race of the season!

We know you're busy skiing, but it's time to polish off those running shoes, dust off the rust, and get ready for some St Patrick's Day shuffling 🍀

We have also decided to extend the January registration giveaway until the end of the month!

Join us on March 14th for the annual Luck of the Irish 7K for a great cause. This race is a benefit for the Steamboat Springs middle school cross country team. Last year was a snowy one. Let's see what this year brings.

Happy New Year and it's snowing!

Registration is now open for all 2026 races, with one addition to come that we will announce soon.

The 2026 Steamboat Springs Running Series commenses on March 14th with the Luck of the Irish 7k ☘️ and we are starting off the year with some giveaways!

Anyone who registers for any of the races before January 15th will be entered to win one entry into the Continental Divide Trail Run or Spring Creek Memorial Trail Run, 2 different giveaways.

We have brought back the 5 race discount pack. When you register for at least 5 races, you receive 20% off on all races. The race pack discount is open only until March 15th and you can use it to register for every race.

Specifically, for the Continental Divide Trail Run you can register for that race as well in the discount race pack. After March 15th, we will move your registration from runsignup to ultrasignup.

Don't miss the deadline for the discount pack and we cannot wait to see you all in 2026!

We are so thankful for this community and excited to say that all of the races open on Januray 1st!

With so many options and big race organizations out there, we hope that you will join us at one (or many) of our non profit events in 2026.

While we are deep into the darkest part of winter, it's not too early to start thinking about those 2026 plans !

We are working on updating the website right now and registration for all races will be up and running on January 1st! The CDTR 50k registration is already open and registrations look great!

Luck of the Irish 7K : Saturday, March 14th

Hayden Cog run, 8 mile and 5K: Sunday, May 3rd

The Spirit Challenge Run for Autism, 10 K and 5K: Saturday, May 16th

The Howelsen Hill, 8 and 4 miler, Saturday, June 13th

TBD: Saturday, June 27th: exciting new race coming as a collaboration with another event in town, stay tuned ⭐️

The Hahn's Peak vertical, 8 mile up and down the peak: Sunday, July 5th

The Spring Creek Memorial Trail Run, 9 1/2 mile and 5K: Saturday, July 18th

The Continental Divide Trail Run, 50lK, 16M and 5M: Saturday, August 29th

The 10K at 10,000 feet, 10K and 5K, Sunday, September 6th

The Oak Creek No Fun Run, 5k: Monday September 7th

Hi Friends!
Finally the Steamboat Springs Running Series is part of Colorado Gives Day!

On December 9th (or before) we hope that you will think about giving to the SSRS, a 501C3 non profit.

Our races are set up so that proceeds go back to other non profits, groups and youth organizations in the community, a rarity today. We will not lie, it is not easy operating in this fashion today but it is our deep belief that we can continue to do so, even as a mostly volunteer led organization.

Events like this that have been in our valley for 45+ years are so important to the local community. Our events provide such an amazing place for locals and visitors to gather in, a health supportive environment, from beginners and walkers to elite runners.

We have been giving locally for years and now we ask for your support. Please consider us this year, your donation no matter how small or large, will be put to amazing use keeping these traditions alive!

Exciting news! 🔔

Registration for the 2026 Continental Divide Trail Run opens tomorrow on !

Although this race is a long-standing tradition, it is quickly becoming one of the go to Colorado mountain events of the summer.

Sign up for the 50K, 16 mile or 5 mile option that will take place on Saturday August 29th, 2026.

All of our other races will open on January 1st (possibly earlier), as we update the website.

Sign up for an amazing challenge on this spectacular course in beautiful Steamboat Springs. Certainly for those in the know, if you are planning on running our sister event - there is no better tuneup than CDTR.

We are very happy to be skiing and seeing more snow in the valley currently, but its never too early to plan your summer events and lock in the best prices.

We cannot wait to welcome you back to beautiful Northwest Colorado in August for this event!
