Living a Life that Matters

Living a Life that Matters When you hit a point in your life where you start to question things. Am I living life or is there more...? What does it mean to truly be living?

The embodiment of living requires us to live a life with purpose. In order to live this way we have to peel away how we are shaped based off our environment, religious dogma passed to us through generations, societal norms, trauma, and many other factors that shape who we are and how we live. When we can liberate ourselves from things, experiences, and expectations that do not respect who we truly are we can then begin to build ourselves up in honor of who we really are. We than can begin to live a life that matters. Now here is the disclaimer….Doing this is not an easy task and it does take work and it requires to live each day with intention. This requires a lot of reflection, forgiveness, empathy, love, and compassion. Not only towards others but to ourselves. Love is at the center of this transformation. Through my education and experiences I started this transformation and I wanted to share some of the great things I learned that helped and are helping me ongoing. I also wanted to continue this journey to be the best ME, as well as being filled up with true happiness each and every day. Learning that happiness is not something that is meant to be temporary or determined based on what’s going on in life but is meant to be deeply rooted within self. Some of the core principals of the word happiness is pleasure, joy, exhilaration, bliss, delight, enjoyment, satisfaction, bliss, ecstasy, contentment, satisfaction. Yes that sounds great!! And there are so many books, magazines, stores, material items, and money that all claim the key to happiness and people are constantly searching for something outside of themselves to make them feel happy. But is it true happiness when something or someone can take our happiness away? What I learned is that what we believe or think about a situation, experience, or of anything that happens to us dictates how we feel. So perspective has a lot to do with happiness and learning how to shift away from negative thoughts/patterns and move to replacing them with more positive thoughts and creating a new way of living. So if this sound like something that you or someone you know might be interested in feel free to comment, like, and share my page. Even if you’re only looking for positive messages or inspiration that is a start. If there is something that you need help with that is specific feel free to message me or post and I try and reply. Thank you for visiting my page and I hope that we can all learn to live a life that matters. I do want to tell you this journey is harder for those who suffer with more deeper trauma, addiction, disabilities, mental health issues, or physical or chronic pain. But this is why I’m here because this is what we are trying to cure here. There are ridiculous amounts of dollars spent trying to tell us what will make us happy, well if you haven’t noticed we are all different and what makes us happy is our process. So let’s get started!

Today’s Vibes...Part of my self-care routine is creating something everyday! My inspiration for today came from tattoo idea for myself that represents me.
A Butterfly is my spirit animal and if that is not enough I am always drawn to the the beauty of the evolution of a caterpillar to a butterfly. THE EVOLUTION OF CHANGE!! When a caterpillar is bound to the ground, to then working inward in a cocoon, to then becoming free flying through life in beautiful elegance.♥️🦋 The broken part...the pain depicted in this collage of images represents all the hurt, setbacks, struggles, traumas, physical pain, mental pain, emotional rollercoasters, self doubt, all that bu****it basically. Beauty comes out of it as I consciously take ownership of my healing like the caterpillar so I have the joy of becoming a butterfly living FREE to fly through life in beautiful elegance. 🦋

WATCH IMMIGRATION NATION NOW!

Today we are faced with many afflictions in the world that affect our humanity and the ability for people to live a life that matters. This should be a human right!
Has anyone watched this in full yet? Curious how it impacts people’s perspective on immigration laws and how current Trump administration is handling? There comes a point where we have to look outside ourselves and our privileges or comfort and take responsibility to use our voice to help create solutions to this big problem. These systems are broken and because of that people are hurting, families destroyed, and the children 😢 are suffering. I understand politics can separate many people but we are all human regardless of where you are from everyone deserves to have the same opportunities especially when we don’t have a choice of where we are born. I just hope instead of division we can just stop and be more compassionate and try and understand. Our children and younger generations watch how we navigate through these tough issues and we are modeling for them our ethics and morals which will influence these future generations. So let’s be that positive example!! We have a choice to not think narrow minded but more expansive and listen more to differing perspectives or opening our hearts and step outside ourselves because our humanity depends on it. I know that many don’t feel like this affects you or anyone you know but it affects us all.

This documentary series offers a unique and nuanced view of the ongoing struggles in America's broken immigration system. SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/29qBUt7 Ab...

During these times where there is a lot of uncertainty it’s important to focus your energy on what you can control not what you can’t control. Whether it be coronavirus, 5g conspiracy, NWO conspiracies or whatever else is bringing fear to people it’s important to create a space where you are not living in fear. When we can learn how to control our fears, worries, and emotions this is how we can stand strong and grounded despite what’s happening outside of self. Once we can become strong within ourselves this will translate outside of self. We need to make a shift from living so disconnected to self. Spend this time to explore yourself and strengthen YOU!!

Today I was reminded how sometimes we become so powerless. My first thoughts situated in a victim perspective, for example I blamed everything externally. And in that I realized that it not only made me more angry and emotional but it made me feel even more powerless. And I’m telling you I went deep in with this victim perspective because I failed to see my part. Trying to uncover why people do bad things to others, or why profits carry more value than people’s lives, why they make me do this or that, or why I’m stuck in this situation, or why people hurt people. I then took some deep breaths in and realized the power is in me. I can choose where I give my energy and therefore my power. I chose to let them have it not realizing I was the one giving it away. I can instead choose to hold that power, use it more effectively and in alignment with what I would expect of others who hold power and that is to use it for good. When I accepted or realized that I have the freedom/power to choose that it changed everything. I don’t have to be anywhere I don’t want to be or do anything I don’t want to...I choose that. Yes I understand that some choices come with negative consequences such as...if in bad job you can quit but then you will be out of work, so yes it’s scary. But what I’m saying is let’s stop giving our power to live a life that matters away by complaining and blaming our issues on someone or something else. Let’s take that power and do something with it that aligns with what it is we want. Yes it’s not going to happen overnight so being realistic with yourself that change starts with you and is gradual. We are creatures of habit so we have to began to look at those habits of where we shift blame and power. We are the creator of our life and when we can really believe that and start investing in that then we will see that change we desire. We are the change we want to see in this world we just have to be brave enough to believe that we hold that power.

Living a Life that Matters most definitely incorporates an intention to living healthy. This means paying more attention to what we put ON/INSIDE our bodies. One of the biggest fallacies is that food companies care for our health and wellbeing. Unfortunately we live in a time where profits become more important than transparency, and big marketing schemes directly affect how we consume products that not only can be harmful to us but are also harming other animals and our environment.
Living a life that matters is not just for humans, it is a right for all species! Learning to respect that right will move us more fully into a compassionate lifestyle. A lifestyle which promotes many things we are looking to get out of this life.
“Compassion impels us to work to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to remove ourselves from the center of our world and put another there, and to honor the sanctity of every living being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect.” When we can gravitate in this direction we get closer to the balance of true wellness. *mind, body, spirit* Being in alignment is how we live a life that matters. You have to wake up everyday and make a choice how will YOU choose to live...because ultimately you’re the only one who can make that choice. RIGHT...?
You do have the power everyday to end suffering somewhere in the world.
Don’t allow yourself to think that that power is somewhere else- USE THAT POWER!! There are many ways to use that power but it starts with educating yourself, asking questions, thinking critically on things that have been automatic in your life. Sometimes we do things or hold beliefs that never came from us but came from tradition, culture, past times or just convenience. It’s important to question “why” to ourselves in everything we do. Education is power and when your equipped with the knowledge/education/understanding of YOURSELF then you are no longer victim to ignorance. Ignorance is where your choices/patterns/ethics are hijacked by these plotted marketing schemes to create more profits for them not to better YOU.
Not everyone is on your side so tread carefully because when your trying to be better many will try and break you down. Just don’t take it personally... it’s just ignorance. This is why it’s critical to center yourself in truth and gain this truth by self exploration, universal knowledge, and compassion. For there lyes the strength and power to up level yourself to a greater awakening into living your best life.

When living a life that matters it’s important to start your day off with intention. Start your day fresh by letting go of yesterday, this can be done by doing techniques like yoga, prayer, meditation, or whatever helps you to unpack any fears, frustrations, stressors, or expectations from prior day or past. Then after you decided what to let go of what doesn’t serve you then you began the unpacking process. Once you feel good and grounded/balanced/aligned after unpacking then set your intention for your day. This intention is yours so it can be small or big. And remember if things don’t quite go as intended then when you go to unpack for next day you can determine if you need to tweak your intention. This process takes time and you get better as you continue to practice it everyday. When you began to live with intention you will start to see more things happen around you that align with your intention.

Intention definition: To put forth a -purpose, plan, objective, design, or destine for something.

Be aware of your thoughts....
It is important to understand how your thoughts can attract things you do not want. Whether it be fears, insecurities, personal or financial hardship, illness/death, trauma and basically whatever you think about often/ obsessively can also manifest. For example, you may love hiking, but your greatest fear is getting attacked by bear or mountain lion. Well...repetitive thoughts that are charged with fear can set up the experience unless you let go of it. It's great to always be aware of your surroundings and take time to understand everything around you, but don't assume what is going to happen or what can happen. It's best to focus on what you want to happen. And if you have no expectations then allow yourself the freedom to be free and allow your energy to vibrate at a frequency that moves through you and brings back not only what you need but what you desire. It is far better to eliminate those negative thoughts by replacing them with positive ones. So you see and understand..don't give up hiking, instead give up negative thinking. Use energy to enjoy all that surrounds you. Take time to live in the moment, breath it all in, allow your senses to explore, and most of all be present!!

Life, Death and the Living Universe-Stuart Holland

"The only universal constant is change, an endless cycle of life, growth, death, and rebirth, as circumstantial constraints are in constant flux, and each manifestation of matter and energy is integral to the eternally-expanding body of experiential consciousness of the universe. Godly 'perfection' is a false destination, stifling and inert; the real beauty lies in the infinite journey, and pursuit of growth where there is no end.
The interconnectedness of all things has never been made as clear to me as it did in the presence of such an awe-inspiring entity. It inspired a humbling gratitude to sweep over my being. I realized the need to acknowledge how indebted I am to all the things that came before, and things that will come after me. The Universe depends on us all. Consciousness is 'God,' a term that seems incredibly inadequate to decribe what I was witnessing. 'God' is found within each of us in the form of consciousness, and each consciousness is a part of the collective consciousness of the Universe. As products of the Universe, we are not only individually whole, but also part of am infinite whole.
This was a mere glimpse, there is still much more to learn. Dazzled by the symphony of the nocturnal jungle, I found sleep that night feeling overwhelmingly loved by all that surrounded me. And I found that I loved it all in return."

When you hear "living a life that matters" what does that mean to you? Taking it further..what does it look like or feel like?
Imagine that you can choose the way you want to live... take away ALL of the obstacles that you feel prevent those desires or dreams from manifesting and really imagine what this means. You don't have to know how your going to get there or who will help you or be by your side. You're just going to focus on what YOU need to live a life that matters. As you start this journey I want you to focus your attention primarily on you and only you. The reason for this is transformation is a internal process that only you yourself can accomplish. You can't focus on changing others or helping others until you become rooted and invested in your own personal wellbeing. You will get to all the other steps soon enough but for now just take some time to IMAGINE.

And please take time to share what you come up with. This page is meant to be interactive by engaging and uplifting each other as we work to be our best selves. Share anything... experiences..frustrations..victories..losses.. dreams and goals-big or small.

Focusing your energy on the things you want rather than the things you don't want will affect how you feel mentally, emotionally, and physiologically. And it also goes further by drawing that negative energy back to you. All it takes is your energy to be caught in the past, or get detoured by a simple negative thought and how you feel and think is significantly altered.

Focusing on what you want by imagining it, feeling it, meditating on it, and adopting new habits surrounding what you want and who you desire to be will not only bring positive energy to you but it will help build habits that will serve you much better in life.

I always feel so refreshed after meeting with my counselor. Its crazy how much of a negative stigma there is regarding seeking counseling services. As I'm developing myself as counselor I understand how important it is to have a positive outlet. No matter what's going on in your life we can always gain wisdom when we allow ourselves to open up and become vulnerable by letting out our emotions, thoughts, perceptions, fears, doubts, insecurities be communicated. When we do we can see them for what they are...because our perception is different when it's all in our head and can be confusing and misinterpreted because there is so much going on in our heads. Some say counseling is for weak people or people who have mental illness or deep problems but really counseling is for everyone!! We all can gain wisdom from our experiences and our perceptions by being more open and tap into our own personal strengths and insecurities and triggers that hold is back from moving forward. To create not only peace and happiness within ourselves but also within others. Challenging ourselves to be a better person thenl we were yesterday can allow is to be the confident and loving people this world needs right now.

Forgiving someone is such a hard task to initiate especially when you have been hurt deeply by someone. I took a class a couple semesters back on Psychology of Change and the #1 process for change is FORGIVENESS. Regardless if you decide stop investing in a relationship or want to continue pursuing a relationship, forgiveness is still a key element for us to be able to confront the pain, rise above it to forgive, and by doing so becoming vulnerable. This helps lessen emotions of depression, anger, humiliation, betrayal, anxiety, and resentment that has created a wall or a block from allowing love to emerge. We forget that when we forgive it is not just for them, it is for us so that when we lead with a forgiving heart and live a forgiving life we can leave behind a legacy of love and integrity.
What we also gain from this process is a new perspective into the person we need to forgive, as they too may have been hurt which can shed light into why they have built walls to protect themselves which in turn hurt you. We will never understand why people do the things they do until we are ready to seek the truth. And when we do it might not be easy, it might not be pretty, but we will gain wisdom that we would have never had if we were to stay closed off. It is so easy to assume why when we do not know the full story and hold onto our assumptions as truth. But we need to realize we are only taking away from ourselves because assumption and lack of communication are the number one relationship killers. We all perceive differently, we have all lived different lives, and we all have different views. Understand that before everything!!!
