Photos from today’s installation event. Many volunteers had prior experience and they were very productive. Special thanks to the set up team that remarked the sites yesterday and precut the sod. Special thank to the support of the City of Lakewood, WA Parks and Recreation staff.

Our first Wreaths Across America ceremony in the historic Western State Hospital patient cemetery was meaningful thanks to American Legion Post 53 of DuPont and volunteers from various sectors of the community. We were blessed with good weather and warm hearts who honored 103 veterans interned in the cemetery. The wreaths on the fence represent branches of the military and persons who were missing in action.

Today Josh, a UPS driver, delivered 8 dozen wreaths ahead of our Wreaths Across America ceremony this Saturday, December 13 at noon. He shared that he is from Maine, where wreaths across America is located and his relatives make wreaths on their farm! He is a veteran with 18 years service and offered to reach out to his post and other organizations. What a wonderful encounter!
