The animals rescued will be used in our educational program dedicated to working with children and adults who would like to "connect" with animals as a means to therapy. The organization will also work closely with the community to encourage interactive learning right at the ranch through field trips, day camps, and general admission to the public on special days. The organization was formed by Latricia and LeeAnna Romero, who have been long time equine enthusiast and animal lovers. Their first horse rescue was in 2013 and since have recognized the need for so many more rescues and decided to start a non-profit organization to do so. Our goal is to be a "Last Resort" sanctuary. Meaning we will rescue serviceable horses that are at or about to be sent to slaughter, give them a comfortable home and a job - we would be their last resort. So many good & serviceable horses are sent to slaughter for various reasons, sometimes owners simply do not want the cost or responsibility of an senior horse, sometimes personal finances forces owners to give up their precious pets, regardless of the cause there is a obvious need to rescue those animals that have found themselves unwanted. Animals rescued into the program will not be adopted out unless they will not be able to partake in our educational programs due to temperament, illness's, etc - animals fit for adoption will be not be included in our program and potential forever homes will go thru a vagarious screening process to ensure that animal will be adopted into the best possible situation. Potential forever homes will also have to sign a "No Auction/No Slaughter" contract, which promises the animal will not EVER go back into that situation. We will also be the last resort for other pets, such as senior dogs, cats and other farm animals. PLEASE share our page with your family and friends! We want to reach as many people as possible!
