fog rolling through Stillwater MN this morning 🌫️🐝

this is that in between season in Minnesota
not quite winter
not fully spring
but you can feel everything starting to shift

if you’ve ever wondered what bees are doing this time of year

they’re not flying yet

inside the hive they stay clustered together
vibrating their bodies to generate heat
protecting the queen
living off the honey they stored months before

it’s constant work
even when everything outside looks still

that’s what makes spring possible

and right now that same shift is happening out here

longer light
softer ground
warmer air just starting to show up

we’re feeling it too

grateful for the slower season
but genuinely excited for what’s coming next at Honeycomb Cottage MN

because soon the bees will be flying again
the hive will be humming
and sessions will feel completely different

quieter
more reflective

• a season of stillness
• of listening
• of something… shifting beneath the surface

🌀 a single tone
🌀 a single breath
🌀 a small bowl holding a much bigger field

the moon keeps cycling 🌒
and with it… something in the body starts to soften

🐝 the bees are waking
🌱 the land is loosening
🌬️ the nervous system… finally exhaling

not all growth is loud
some of it hums beneath the surface steady… inevitable

April is almost here

and if you’ve been paying attention…
you can feel it building

we’re grateful for the cold
for the contrast
for what it’s about to make possible

the hive is waking up
and it doesn’t wait for anyone

Introducing Fox Walkers (6-9) & Coyote Ninjas (10-13), where skill, creativity, and belonging grow together.

Fox Walkers and Coyote Ninjas spend full days immersed in the land: learning practical skills, expressing creativity, and building strong relationships with peers, mentors, and place.

Our days weave together:
• Survival skills
• Gardening & growing food
• Herbalism & plant medicine
• Natural movement
• Carpentry & natural building
• Cooking
• Music, art, drama & improv
• Deep nature connection

Children might follow a deer trail through the woods, harvest herbs for cooking, build a bench for the circle, or bring a story to life through skits and song. The forest is both classroom and playground, and relationship is at the heart of everything.

We absolutely love sharing the cottage with healers who weave their own magic alongside the harmonic hum of the hive. The alchemy of crystal bowls, voice, vibration, and the gentle resonance of thousands of bees creates something truly otherworldly… grounding, expansive, and deeply nourishing to the nervous system.

Moments like these remind us why this space exists 🌿

It’s inspiring to see the benefits of sound/nature becoming more mainstream and backed by science, something we all now realize the indigenous populations were in tune with and symbiotically benefiting from all along. At the beginning of the HCC when we discussed starting a bee therapy center we didn’t know if anyone would be interested or value the experience enough for it to work. It’s been a huge risk and commitment to build something like this. People still look at us like we’re crazy when we tell them what we do. However we know the benefits it can have and how much of a gateway experience it can be for someone to start their appreciation of nature journey.
🌿✨ The Healing Power of Birdsong — and Nature’s Vibrations

Have you ever noticed how your whole body softens when you step outside and hear the birds singing… or the distant call of a wolf?
Nature speaks in frequencies — and our bodies remember how to listen.

Science shows that trees and plants respond to sound vibrations in subtle but remarkable ways. These natural frequencies influence how they grow, how they move water, and how they interact with the world around them. Birdsong in particular creates a gentle vibration through the forest, a signal of harmony and life.

And just like the trees, we respond too.

Today we’re giving thanks for the small but mighty beings that make Honeycomb Cottage MN possible the bees. Their warmth, their steady vibrations, and the calming hive aerosols they create are at the heart of every apitherapy session here in Stillwater, MN.

As we move into the winter season, we’re grateful for everyone who visited our wellness space this year! Your curiosity, kindness, and openness to new ways of healing helped our Air Bee & Bee grow into one of the most unique wellness experiences in the Twin Cities area.

We didn’t really know what we were getting into two years ago when we began the steps to opening up a bee therapy center… but you response to resting above two living beehives while experiencing the soothing sound, scent, and natural hive air produced by the colony made the struggle worth it, being able to offer such a unique service here in Minnesota. This gentle environment supports relaxation, deep breathing, nervous system recovery, and a sense of calm that feels like a natural alternative to traditional spas or wellness retreats.

If you’re looking for a peaceful place to unwind, breathe easier, and explore a restorative experience unlike anything else in Minnesota, we’d love to welcome you this season.
