One of my favorite classes from the last retreat was all about creative movement and play, and this photo captures that spirit so well. 🛝✨

After a beautiful hike, Julz and I stumbled onto a little playground while waiting for our ride. Put two movement practitioners in a free space and you know we’re going to explore.

That session (and this spontaneous moment) wasn’t about perfect form, chasing PRs, or nailing a pose. It was about being in your body.

✅ What do I feel?
✅ Where do I feel it?
✅ Can I shift something small and create a new sensation?
✅ How can I move for joy, curiosity, and connection — not just performance?

This kind of training is more than “fun”, it’s foundational.
It builds the mind-body awareness you need when you’re dropping into a powder line, moving through singletrack, or navigating a tough training cycle.

You know that flow state, when your brain quiets and your body just knows what to do?

This is how we practice for that.

Play is presence. And presence is power.
You don’t get flow by grinding harder, you get it by tuning in.

🧠 + 🏃‍♀️ = 💥 Mind-body connection > mindless motion.

Still riding that retreat high ✨ So grateful for this amazing human , my teaching partner, travel buddy, and fellow manifesting generator. We both have that big “let’s do the thing!” energy… but also know when it’s time to pause, reflect, and go within.

Our teaching styles are a true yin and yang, her grounded, spiritual presence meets my fiery, playful energy, and together we create something special for our students. Feeling so inspired and aligned after this retreat, and already dreaming up what’s next 💫

Who’s in for the next adventure? 🌿

Days five and six, a blur of waterfalls, ocean cliffs, hot springs, and golden beaches. We soaked up every last drop of this island’s magic before closing our circle with one final practice, full hearts, tearful hugs, and cheers to new beginnings.

There’s a Portuguese word, saudade, it means a deep emotional state of longing for something beautiful that’s now past but still lives within you. That’s what this week feels like.

Grateful beyond words for this Power in Practice journey, for every smile, every sunrise, and every soul who made it unforgettable. 🌿

Now… a little rest and reflection time in Ponta Delgada before heading home. 💛

🖤Halloween is my favorite, and this year, I’m celebrating on sacred ground in São Miguel, Portugal, co-leading our second annual Power in Practice retreat.

Last night, we gathered for a Noite de Máscaras, a masquerade dinner full of joy, mystery, and community. A beautiful way to close one season and prepare to cross into the next.

Tonight, we honor Samhain, the ancient threshold between light and dark, death and rebirth. A time to release what no longer serves and root deeper into what matters.

To lead during this time, in this place, with this group? Pure magic.

Grateful for the movement, the stillness, the strength, and the soul of this work.

🌀✨ Here’s to the season of becoming.

Most of you know me here as a health coach, but there’s another big part of my journey that’s deeply connected to the work I do. 💛

I’m excited to share this Canvas Rebel feature that dives into the story behind Tahoe Flow Arts & Fitness, the brick-and-mortar movement studio I own in North Lake Tahoe.

This space is more than a fitness studio, it’s a creative, community-centered hub where we explore strength, flow, performance, and self-expression. It’s where my passion for movement, healing, and empowerment really comes to life.

Whether I'm coaching one-on-one or holding space at the studio, my mission is the same: to help people feel strong, confident, and connected, in their bodies and in their lives.

If you’re curious about this other layer of my work, I’d love for you to read the article:

Meet Coach Christine

I grew up playing competitive softball, and that is where my coaching journey began, coaching other girls in softball specific skills as well as on travel teams. Otherwise I gravitated towards solo alternative sports like skateboarding and snowboarding. Moving to Boston to attend college I captained the UMASS softball team as a catcher for four years as well as played volleyball. After graduating college with a Bachelor's degree in Art and English, I headed to New Hampshire with my husband, where I was camp director and head coach of a summer skateboard camp for several years. In search of a snowier lifestyle we moved to Lake Tahoe.

I always have had a profound love of animals and I worked as a veterinary technician for 8 years, where I furthered my innate passion for science and medicine. Going back to school to complete my prerequisites to apply to Veterinary school I had an epiphany after taking an exercise science class one quarter on a whim. THIS is was my true passion! I changed direction at school and completed my personal training certification from Lake Tahoe Community College where I also studied nutrition, kinesiology, exercise prescription, injury prevention, stress reduction and meditation, and more. I took every health, fitness and wellness class I could fit in my schedule and participated in a training internship at the college fitness center. After completing school I went on to become a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine, and earn certification in Aqua Barre, TRX training, and Progressive Calisthenics. I consider myself a lifelong student, and am dedicated to ever expanding my knowledge and practice in health and fitness. I am currently studying for my Level 1 Precision Nutrition Certification, and this year I plan on earning my SCW Functional Exercise Certification as well as my XPT (Performance Coaching) Certification.

Over the years after graduating I worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor in several facilities, then in 2014 I became a Mom, and opened my own personal training and small group fitness facility. In 2018 I partnered my training center with a circus arts studio, and we now co-habitate a lovely performance and training space together. I love a new challenge and will try any type of movement from acro-yoga to trail running, I compete in obstacle course racing, and play on a WFTDA ranked Roller-derby team, which I founded in 2013, I love roller skating! Now I spend my days training, and working with my in person and LadyBoss clients from my facility or spending time with my family playing around Lake Tahoe from the snow covered slopes in the winter to the beach in the summer.

My motto is “Grit and determination", as nothing I have came easy, nor was I ever just “good" at anything when I started out. I’ve worked hard for everything I have achieved, and I want to share that passion and drive with you! I hope to inspire the joy of movement in all people in order to live their best lives! I can't wait to get to know and work with you!
