Job description: Low Voltage System Design Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Designer/Engineer to join our team. This role requires expertise in designing and engineering Low Voltage Systems, including but not limited to Fire Alarm (Temporal 3, Voice Evacuation & Mass Notification), Telecommunications, Audio/Video (A/V), Intercom, Clocks, Paging, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection/Duress, Access Control, Electronic Rekey, Nurse Call, Remote Temperature Monitoring Systems, Sound Masking etc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed design documents, performing load calculations, and ensuring the upkeep and improvement of design-related tools, blocks, standards, and style guides.

Responsibilities

- System Design & Engineering: Design and develop Low Voltage Systems including Fire Alarm, Telecommunications, Audio Video (A/V), Intercom, Clocks, Paging, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection/Duress, Access Control, Electronic Rekey, Nurse Call, Remote Temperature Monitoring Systems, and Sound Masking, etc.

- Produce detailed design drawings including floor plans, riser diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and installation details.

- Perform load calculations such as voltage drop, battery standby load, and wattage load to ensure system performance and reliability.

- Collaborate with Director of Engineering/Design Manager, Project Managers, & Sales/Estimators to integrate low voltage systems into overall project designs.

- Documentation & Standards Management: Assist in the maintenance and improve design-related documents, including tools, blocks, standards, and style guides.

- Ensure that all design documentation meets company standards and industry regulations to include code.

- Update design documents as necessary to reflect changes in project requirements or industry best practices.

- Design Workload Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all design work is completed on time and within budget.

- Communicate effectively with project operations teams (Project Managers) and Installation Technicians to ensure that design requirements are understood and met.

- Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases of projects.

- Permitting/coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ’s).

- Software Utilization: Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit (preferred but not required) to create and manage design documentation.

Experience

Proven experience in electrical engineering or low voltage system design within the construction or building services industry.
Proficiency in CAD drafting tools including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and NavisWorks is essential.
Strong understanding of electrical systems such as wiring diagrams, schematics, PCB layouts, and system design principles.
Familiarity with NEC standards related to low voltage wiring, fire alarm systems, security systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and electrical wiring practices.
Experience working on construction projects from initial design through installation phases is highly desirable.
Knowledge of schematic development for various electrical systems including audiovisual, data communication networks, access control, CCTV surveillance, and intercoms.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions. This role is perfect for motivated professionals eager to shape innovative low voltage solutions that enhance building functionality and safety!

Adept Patriot Services, LLC is looking to fill a role on our Sales Team, leading Commercial and Federal Government Sales Opportunity efforts for Fire Alarm/Mass Notification, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Duress, Intercom, Audio/Video, Structured Cabling, and Fiber Optic Systems.

This position will be dedicated full time to finding, qualifying, and pursuing government solicitations and sales opportunities, coordinating with the sales team and Capture Manager for timely and accurate responses. The position includes document gathering and review, performing detailed take-offs, working with product vendors and/or subcontractors to gather pricing, completing estimates, and providing technical writeups for the Capture Manager to submit to the client. Additional tasks include organizing project handoff meetings with the operations teams to provide detailed information for installation efforts. We are looking for a high-energy individual, that energizes their coworkers, and is willing to think outside the box to provide technology solutions to our clients.

This position includes some travel to a broad range of job site facilities and locations around the US, AK, and HI, including opportunities to travel internationally on a project basis to OCONUS US installations.

Prerequisites:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Cold/Warm Call Agencies & Clients to develop client relationships

- Familiar with Solicitation sites, i.e. Sam.gov, DLA, Unison Global, etc.

- Provide weekly updates to the Capture Manager on opportunities and status

- Work closely with the sales team to develop responses and pricing.

- Provide high-level technical responses and knowledge of systems proposed

Qualifications / Experience:

- 5+ years of Sales experience

- Superior communication and organizational skills

- Confident, highly personable, and able to develop new relationships quickly

- Experience with a variety of Government Agencies is a plus

- Experience using MSOffice 365 applications

- Ability to pass a Federal background check is required

Recommended but not required:

- Industry Certifications in PMI (PMP), NICET, BICSI, ASIS, NFPA, OSHA, AIA, CSI

This position will serve a vital leader amongst the installation teams, responsible for managing daily installation task, managing material requirements to complete on-site activities, managing manpower on the job site, keeping a positive outlook on daily challenges, providing daily reports of progress, and keeping the installation team motivated daily.

This position includes frequent travel to a broad range of job site facilities and locations around the US, AK, and HI, including opportunities to travel internationally on a project basis.

Prerequisites:

- Invested in team growth of peers

- Motivated to continue personal growth and improvement

- 5-7yrs minimum experience installing, terminating, and programming low voltage systems.

- Proficient with PC/MAC/Mobile Devices

- Basic Networking Knowledge
