Tina DiMarino, DNP had the pleasure of presenting to members of the South Carolina Surgery Center Association. Her topic was "Demysifying Infection Control."

Even though infection control has been such a strong focus in the ASC industry, it remains an area that is cited most often by regulatory bodies. Statistics show that over the last decade, despite all of the training and efforts, citations remain steady.

It is time for all of us to empower our teams to take infection control practices to the next level. Reward teams for compliance and for reduced citations. Brainstorm to implement meaningful strategies for compliance within your centers.

With over 20 years in healthcare, Ilena started as a Medical Assistant, building a solid foundation in clinical support and operations. Her passion for specialized care in ophthalmology led to her role as OR Coordinator, where she managed surgical schedules and collaborated with teams. She has acted as ASC Administrator for the last 8 years with a detailed understanding of regulations and accreditation.

Now, as Director of Compliance, Ilena merges her clinical expertise with regulatory knowledge to ensure patient safety, documentation accuracy, and operational excellence. We're excited to have her on board!
