Ok ladies, we are 2 months into our New Years resolutions for a better healthier self. Are any of you doing a ton of crunches trying to get your belly flat and strong? Are you finding a weird bulge happening on your stomach every time you lift your head? Did you know that's a symptom of a diastasis? Everytime you are bringing your head up you are disengaging your core and stretching your connective tissue and actually making your diastasis worse, with every head lift. If I can offer a piece of advice, please stop doing crunches!! Crunches are hurting your core, and contributing to your back pain and pelvic floor issues. There are a ton of better safer options out there!

As someone, who has always puts herself last. Self care is something over the course of this past year I have been actively working towards improving. Every day is a process where I have to actively choose to practice self care. It's super hard!

I admit, there are days I rock self care, others not so much. I have come to realize that in order to be the woman and mom that I want and need to be, my health (both mental and physical) must be a priority. Eating healthy, exercising, getting enough sleep, spending quality time doing things I enjoy seems like an unattainable goal some days. I definitely don't have it all figured out yet, but I figure the first step is recognizing the problem, right? I , now, make a conscious effort to do one self care thing a day for me. Sometimes it's as simple as sitting and finally enjoying a hot cup of tea before my day starts. Invest in yourself you won't be sorry you did!

Just love this photo. We have babies and our bodies stretch and move to make room for the growing baby inside of us. After childbirth, we expect that we should be able to go back to looking and feeling the way we did pre baby. Frustration inevitably sets in with the way our bellies look after, a new pouch hanging over our jeans that wasn't there before, we ache in places we never did before, we just don't feel as strong as before. Our bodies went through a war that we were only passively involved in.

Like the 9months it takes to make a baby, our bodies after pregnancy need to be able to take the time it requires to get our body back to the way it was pre baby.

Be patient Momma, I know the road feels long and unattainable but I promise you'll get there!
