💙 Welcome, Dr. Clare Omekam!

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Clare Omekam to Articularis Rheumatology Specialists: Smyrna! 🌟

Dr. Omekam is a board-certified internist and practicing rheumatologist with a passion for patient-centered care and a deep commitment to helping individuals living with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions reclaim their quality of life.

She completed her medical degree at the Medical University of Lublin in Poland, followed by her internal medicine residency at Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Georgia, where she served as chief resident, and later pursued her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Dr. Omekam believes in listening, validating, and guiding patients through what can often be a complex journey — building meaningful relationships through compassion, education, and partnership. 💙

🎤 Leading the Conversation at FLAACOs 2025

We’re proud to share that Dr. Doug White, of Articularis Rheumatology Specialists of Sandy Springs, served as a keynote speaker at the FLAACOs 2025 Conference this week.

Dr. White’s presentation, “Rewriting the Script: Managing the B-to-D Shift and Specialty Surge,” explored the growing impact of the shift from Part B to Part D drugs and the rise in specialty prescribing — and what ACOs must do to adapt strategically.

It was an honor for members of our leadership team - Robert Kirk, CEO and Matthew Fowler, Esq. - to join Dr. White at this event, connecting with healthcare leaders and exploring new opportunities to strengthen collaboration across accountable care models.

We’re proud to share that Colin C. Edgerton, M.D., board member at Articularis Healthcare Group and part of the ACR delegation to the AMA House of Delegates, is featured in The Rheumatologist. The AMA House of Delegates meets biannually to shape national policy and set the direction for the country’s largest physician organization.

At the upcoming AMA House of Delegates Interim Meeting, the ACR’s resolutions will address two key issues impacting rheumatology and specialty care nationwide:

🔵 Non-compete agreements and their effect on physician autonomy
🔵 Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in prior authorization processes

The delegation will also collaborate with the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy to support changes to the average sales price methodology for biosimilars, ensuring fair reimbursement for rheumatologists and other specialists who administer them.
