The New Mexico Association for Home & Hospice Care recently honored professionals in hospice and palliative care at their Staff Awards. We are beyond excited that Anvoi’s own Nicole Scotto received the Nurse of the Year award for the state of New Mexico!

Nicole’s exceptional nursing care goes above and beyond the call of duty. A dedicated hospice nurse for ten years, she believes that one of the most meaningful aspects of our work is devoting as much time as each patient and family caregiver needs. For Nicole, hospice care is not one-size-fits-all. Her compassion and dedication shine through her service and leadership.
In the Taos community, Nicole works tirelessly to provide education about hospice and to build partnerships with local organizations like Strong at Heart and the Taos Downtown Strategy. She leads her clinical team by example, encouraging them to stay engaged in the communities they serve. On weekends, you’ll often find her at the farmers market or volunteering with the Veterans Off Grid program, strengthening relationships with patients and their families outside of traditional care settings.

Nicole’s passion for hospice care is truly inspiring. Through her dedication to patients, families, students, and her colleagues, she creates a positive care environment everywhere she goes.

The New Mexico Association for Home & Hospice Care recognizes those working in hospice and palliative care. At their recent Staff Awards, they recognized several individuals who provide exceptional hospice and palliative care, including two of Anvoi's own, Tracy Ivy and Nicole Scotto.

The Hospice Aide of the Year Award is bestowed annually in recognition of a hospice aide who provides high quality, compassionate care to his/her patients in their place of residence. Anvoi's Tracy Ivy consistently goes above and beyond to provide not just physical support, but emotional comfort to patients and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. With unwavering empathy and calm, she brings dignity, peace, and a deep sense of humanity to end-of-life care.

Whether holding a patient’s hand in their final hours, supporting grieving loved ones, or mentoring new team members, Tracy exemplifies the heart of hospice.

Nicole received this prestigious award for her exemplary work to advance justice and inclusion in hospice and health care and in bringing care to those who need it most.
