Root Awakening Farm is a nonprofit, recovery-centered urban farm serving the Tampa Bay region, with its flagship site located in the north of the downtown core of the City of Tampa, a community facing persistent gaps in access to recovery support, wellness resources, and meaningful community connection. Launched in July 2024, the organization addresses a critical gap in the recovery ecosystem by providing accessible, non-clinical, community-based environments that support long-term recovery through connection, purpose, and meaningful work.

We warmly welcome individuals in recovery, loved ones of people in recovery, and community allies who want to support wellness, connection, and long-term healing. You do not need farming experience to participate, just a willingness to show up with care for yourself and others.

A new week at Root Awakening Farm means space to slow down, reconnect, and care for yourself. From wellness offerings to hands on farm activities and recovery centered gatherings, our weekly schedule is designed to support healing and growth in all forms.

Check our website and stories for the most up to date schedule. Please note the farm will be closed the week of Christmas and the week after as we rest and reset. We cannot wait to welcome you back in the new year for another season of healing, learning, and growing together.

Farm Manager Jess has been busy hosting some seriously fun farm workshops at Root Awakening Farm. This week it was a hands on garden kimchi class and today we were pickling fresh radishes straight from the soil. Learning, fermenting, and getting a little messy is what farm life is all about 🥬
