Dear Friends,
Sozo Healing House is turning 7 years old this May! Seven years of good energy, healing vibes, and this amazing community we've built together. I can hardly believe we've been doing this for seven years!
As we celebrate this anniversary, I want to share some honesty with you.
This past year? It's been tough. Like, really tough.
Running a small business is hard in the best of times, and lately it's been even harder.
What makes Sozo unique is that we're built on the success of our healing partners - all those talented people who run their practices here. When things get tight for them, we feel it too. When the economy gets weird, we all hold our breath a little.
We've watched some really good small businesses in our state close their doors this year. Places we loved. People we respected. Every time it happens, it hits home how blessed we are to still be here, still open, still doing what we love.
Yes, we made it past the five year hump -- but now we are in too deep to give up. There are just too many reasons, and people we care about, to even think about Sozo Healing House no longer existing!
When times get tough, here's what keeps us going:
Our Healing Partners - The talented practitioners who have chosen Sozo as their business home. They show up every day with their gifts, their dedication, and their belief in holistic wellness and self-care. They are the heart of what makes Sozo special. To every healing partner past and present - thank you. Your courage to run your own business inspires us. Your commitment to your clients amazes us. We're honored to support your dreams.
Our Customers - You, who choose to shop at our Refillery Boutique instead of big chain stores. You, who buy your coffee from our cafe instead of the corporate spots down the street. You, who book sessions with our healing partners and attend our classes. Every single choice you make to support Sozo matters more than you know. You're not just buying a product or service - you're keeping a small business alive. You're supporting real people with real dreams. You're investing in your local community.
Our Belief in Community - We all rise together. When you support small businesses, you're supporting families. You're keeping money in your local economy. You're choosing connection over convenience, quality over quantity, community over corporations.
Looking back at seven years, I'm just... grateful. Grateful for every person who's walked through our doors. Every class that's brought people together. Every healing session that's helped someone feel better. Every conversation over coffee. Every time someone said "I love this place."
Is running a small business hard? Oh yeah. Do we worry about money? Of course. Do we work way more hours than we probably should? Absolutely.
But would we trade it? Not a chance.
Because this place - Sozo - it's become something special. It's where people come to heal. To connect. To breathe. To belong. And that's worth fighting for.
