The Presidential Task Force on Redefining the Postpartum Visit: American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Committee Opinion (2021):

"To optimize the health of women and infants, postpartum care should become an ongoing process, rather than a single encounter, with services and support tailored to each woman’s individual needs. Anticipatory guidance should begin during pregnancy with the development of a postpartum care plan that addresses the transition to parenthood and well-woman care."

The current health care system doesn't support this level of care in just the OB/GYN setting. Registered Nurses are recognized as appropriate Postpartum Care Team Members to provide components of needed postpartum supportive care, which is the service I provide for my clients in virtual 1-on-1 sessions.
