We are proud to share that TIME named Dr. Brian Ahmedani, a member of our board and director of our Center for Health Policy & Health Services Research, and director of research for Behavioral Health Services, to the 2026 TIME100 Health List of the World’s Most Influential Leaders in Health. 👏

Dr. Ahmedani is recognized in the Innovators category for his work on Henry Ford Health's Zero Su***de model, which has been shown to reduce su***de rates by 25%. In 2025, he published new research further demonstrating the model’s effectiveness - work that has since been adopted across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. “We pursue zero because we don't accept that we shouldn't try to prevent every single su***de,” Dr. Ahmedani says. “We're not going to stop until we do.”

The 2026 TIME100 Health spotlights the 100 most influential leaders in health who have pushed new ideas ahead to build healthier populations around the world.

Opioid Settlement Dollars ≠ New Slush Fund!

Amidst uncertainty over mass federal funding cuts to public healthcare, opioid settlement funds are more crucial now than ever. More than 230 organizations nationwide have released a new National Roadmap for Spending Opioid Settlement Funds in 2026, urging state and local leaders to invest over $57 BILLION in solutions that actually save lives.
That means:
✔️ Harm reduction & naloxone
✔️ Housing & supportive services
✔️ Treatment without barriers
✔️ Repairing racial & economic harm

And NOT more criminalization, incarceration, or ineffective programs that tear families apart.
Overdose deaths are preventable. Communities know what works. This Roadmap shows the path forward—now leaders must follow it.
