Happy Respiratory Care Week!
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Krystal, our incredible Respiratory Therapy Director here at Park Terrace! 💙
1. What made you want to become an RT?
“I started college in pre-med but quickly discovered that was not the path I wanted to go down. When my grandpa was diagnosed with lung cancer, it opened my eyes to different healthcare careers — one of which was respiratory therapy! Almost 20 years later, I’ve worked in a level 1 trauma center, an LTACH, and now in long term care!”
2. Why is RT so important for residents and the facility?
“Respiratory therapists do everything from basic assessments and oxygen therapy to managing ventilators in long term care. We help residents lead long and fulfilling lives even with breathing issues and lung conditions.”
3. Why did you choose Park Terrace?
“I chose Park Terrace because of the residents and the community. The residents here are like family — so many look forward to seeing you every day, and knowing that makes it worth coming back each and every day!”
