IASIS & Autism Parenting - Celebrating Small Wins
Recently, after only the third IASIS Neurofeedback session, a mom of our 9-year-old patient shared this about her son:
💬“... is now using more words like "probably" and "hopefully"
When raising a child on the autism spectrum, every moment of progress matters. Parents know that growth doesn’t always come in big leaps - it often comes in small, beautiful steps that signal the brain is making new connections and opening new doors.
These words may seem like ordinary words to some, but to a parent of a child with communication challenges, they represent hope, flexibility, and the ability to express deeper thought. Usage of new words show the brain moving toward greater clarity, adaptability, and self-expression.
Parenting a child with special needs is a journey of patience, persistence, and profound love. It’s also a journey filled with unique victories that deserve to be celebrated loudly and proudly.
So when your child uses a new word, shows more focus, or handles a tough situation better than before, take a minute to pause, take it all in and smile. These small wins are stepping stones to a brighter, fuller future.
Because every “probably” and every “hopefully” is a sign of progress and a reminder that hope is alive and growing in your special children.
