Here are some pictures from our recent impactful Dementia Tour!

Our Director of Nursing, Angela, and Assistant Director of Nursing, Lauren, teamed up with HR/Recruitment’s Maia and BrightStar Caregiver/CNA Sara to experience the Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) for the first time. This powerful, hands-on training experience simulates the sensory and physical challenges that people with dementia face daily, helping our team gain a deeper understanding and empathy for the struggles our clients go through.

The VDT is designed to enhance caregiving by giving participants a first-hand, immersive experience through specially designed equipment that distorts vision, creates sensory overload, and impairs fine motor skills. By completing simple tasks under these conditions, our team walks away with a renewed commitment to providing person-centered care, showing our dedication to understanding and supporting those living with dementia.

A big thank you to everyone who participated, and to the team for taking the time to go through this eye-opening experience! 🌟 We’re more inspired than ever to continue offering compassionate, high-quality care to our clients.

We’re so proud of our BrightStar Care Conejo Valley team! 💜

This past weekend, 25 of our team members joined together for the Conejo Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising an incredible $8,076 — the 2nd highest fundraising total of the event!

With 570 participants and 92 teams, the community came together to make a real impact. This year, we walked in honor of Susan Magpiong, whose strength and spirit inspire us all. Her photo was featured in the Promise Garden, a touching reminder of why we walk — for hope, for love, and for a cure.

💜 73% of all funds raised go directly to Alzheimer’s research.
Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and supported the fight to end Alzheimer’s. Together, we’re making a difference — one step at a time.

Recap: 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Hermosa Beach

This past Saturday, the Hermosa Beach Pier was filled with energy, hope, and community spirit as hundreds gathered for the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Beach Cities. The event brought together families, caregivers, advocates, and local organizations, all united in the mission to end Alzheimer’s disease.

BrightStar Care of Conejo Valley and Coastal Los Angeles was proud to be a sponsor of this impactful event. Our team set up a booth along the walk route, offering information, support, and a warm presence to participants. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community, share resources, and show our ongoing commitment to compassionate care for those affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

We were especially proud to see our BrightStar Care team show up in full force—walking, volunteering, and cheering on participants. Their dedication reflects our values and our mission to go above and beyond in supporting families facing memory-related challenges.

From the heartfelt opening ceremony to the colorful Promise Garden tribute, the day was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we walk together.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, walked with us, or donated to the cause. Together, we’re helping move toward a future without Alzheimer’s.

Our walk is this weekend, and we’re currently the 2nd largest team fundraiser for the Conejo Valley Walk with $7255 raised! 💜 We’ll have 17 walkers, plus Dexter, our mascot!
