“Be Brave and Take Risks: You need to have faith in yourself. You don't have to have it all figured out to move forward.”
― Roy T. Bennett

Taking that first step into a new life can be a mix of emotions; uncertainty, hesitation, fear, excitement, anticipation, and ultimately joy.

Our volunteers are there to help navigate these feelings both physically and mentally during a patient's recovery.

Dr. Lawrence Dorr, Jeri Ward RN, and Mary Ellen Sieben RN had a vision. Thirty years ago they set out on a mission to fight joint diseases and restore mobility to the underserved, the vulnerable, and to those whose lives had been interrupted by pain and loss of mobility.

Juan Manuel Aleman Diaz is just one example of a life changed by Operation Walk. Through the concerted effort of Shelly Craft, Jeri Ward RN, Ava Baldwin, and Sandy Barker, he has received four joint replacements from three Operation Walk teams working together to achieve the goal of a life restored.

Our team continues to work nights and weekends to prepare for our upcoming mission to the Phlilippines!

Learn about our "why" for returning to partner hospitals, such as St. Elizabeth Hospital, Inc., around the globe in continuing our mission to restore mobility.

As we prepare for our return to General Santos City, Philippines in 2026, things have been very busy behind the scenes. We’re gathering and coordinating everything needed for surgery—because we truly bring everything with us.
