‼️BE AWARE OF CHOKING HAZARDS‼️

Choking is a major risk for young kids under 4 due to small airways and developing chewing skills. Here’s how to reduce risks with simple prep:

⚠️ Whole grapes or cherry tomatoes → Quarter lengthwise
⚠️ Chunks of string cheese → Shred or dice small
⚠️ Hot dogs → Slice lengthwise, then quarter
⚠️ Popcorn → Opt for puff corn for little ones
⚠️ Whole nuts → Use ground nuts or spread nut butters
⚠️ Hard candy → Reserve for older kids, or choose chocolate

Thank you

It’s ! To protect children, the Window Safety Task Force offers the following tips:

1. When young children are around, keep windows closed and locked.
2. When opening a window for ventilation, use those located out of a child’s reach.
3. Avoid placing furniture near windows to prevent young children from climbing and gaining access to an open window.
4. Don’t rely on insect screens to prevent a window fall. Screens are designed to keep bugs out, not to keep children in the home.
5. Supervise children to keep child’s play away from windows, balconies or patio doors.
6. Install ASTM F2090 compliant devices designed to limit how far a window will open or window guards (with quick-release mechanisms in case of fire or other emergency) to help prevent a fall.

The bubbles are out at LCPeds to celebrate this beautiful weather. Outdoor play is fun!! Plus, it’s great for gross motor skills, Vitamin D, and burned-off energy (which means better naps!).
