We are hearing from many people that they’re feeling powerless, overwhelmed, and confused. Many of us are feeling pulled in many directions trying to put out the quickly multiplying fires and are struggling to take skillful action. Our nervous systems are flooded with information daily and it’s taking a toll. As the pressure builds, you might find yourself falling into similar patterns that keep you from living in alignment with your deepest values. 

Join us for this powerful cohort of people who are committed staying in the struggle for liberation in this intense time. We cannot be in the struggle alone!

This somatic coaching cohort will invite you to center the body in your leadership, in your political action, in your personal life as it intersects with your organizing. This practice will invite you to keep returning to your longing and to be discerning and take skillful action from that place instead of the reactive and overwhelmed state the current administration is trying to evoke in us.

By the end of our 8 sessions, you’ll have explored practices to support you to:
* Have increased awareness of embodiment: your emotions, sensations and behaviors
* Deepen your clarity and connection to your longings and what you care about 
* Ask for and receive support
* Coordinate more effectively with others
* Return to a connected, present state under pressure
* Intentionally nourish joy, connection, and wholeness
* Develop community for the sake of creating more belonging and visioning together

We have another Turning to the Body - 3-hour workshop coming up in February. These one-session offerings are great if you’re wondering: what is somatics? What are these practices like? Each time we do a basic introduction to this path of practice around a particular topic. 

This month: Consent! Turning to the body to listen for our own consent supports us to set clear boundaries and listen in for what we are available for. In this workshop we’ll introduce a few basic somatic practices to start cultivating a deeper sense of our own yes, no and maybe’s, starting from the body up.

Each year I offer a limited number of reduced rate spots for coaching.
It’s madness that we need to pay for healing work in our world — and it’s how we are organized right now.

Have you ever said yes when you actually meant no?

What would life be like if you could say maybe more — and take more time to decide?

Having access to and feeling for our authentic yes’, no’s and maybe’s is one pathway to living with more consent in all of relationships.

The practice of consent also supports building a culture that honors everyone’s dignity and safety.

As Grace Lee Boggs said, “In order to transform the world, they must transform themselves.” The way we feel for systems that dignify all life is to start by feeling for our own dignified consent, and then feel for one more person’s, and the next.

What a delight it is to gather in the company of our questions together.

Last weekend we kicked off our second cohort of Weaving New Ritual at Tower Hill Retreat Center amidst the blowing snow and frozen sand dunes.

As things escalate and intensify around the world, and especially in Minneapolis as we gathered around the fire, we gathered to practice feeling for prayer and ritual that supports us to create deeper belonging, to transform the violence of the world, to ask ourselves what are the stories we need now? How can those of us with Christian lineage speak into the violence of Christianity in the days we are living? What in us needs healing so we can do so?

It can be so challenging to slow down into this kind work at a time when it feels like we need all hands on deck.
And as Bayo Akomolafe teaches us: “The times are urgent, let us slow down.”

I am so grateful to be in practice with a group of people this year inside of these questions as we work to turn to face each other inside of the urgency and crises of these days. And so very grateful to land and Spirit and ancestors for holding us in the weight of this moment.

I pray you - dear one reading this - are finding places for connection and ways of being held. It’s OK to ask for it.
