In Yin Yoga, we’re not trying to stretch deeper or push harder.
We’re simply feeling sensation-enough to invite awareness, not strain.

Yin is about listening, softening, and allowing the body to open in its own time 🤍

In Yin Yoga, we hold poses for time and we breathe.
The stillness gives the tissues space to respond, and the breath helps the nervous system soften.

No forcing. No rushing. Just time, breath, and awareness.

Life is sweet when you have a sweet yogi cat like Milo! It does become a bit of an issue when he decides to groom himself on the backend lol-but, luckily he is learning all about stillness (and manners). He also really likes to meow and give the folks extra guidance when I am being too quiet 😹

He loves attending my live yin yoga classes on every Tuesday & Thursday.

Honor this principle by coming into your pose at the appropriate edge (the 1st principle) and then resolving to remain as still as you can. This doesn’t mean you can’t move at all - it’s about giving the tissues we’re targeting the chance to fully absorb the stress we’re placing on them. Stillness in the body supports a quiet breath… and a quiet mind.

Question for you: What shifts in your body or mind when you truly allow yourself to be still?

Hope to catch you in a live local or virtual class soon-you'll find a pinned post with my scedule in my profile!

At the heart of yoga lies a simple, powerful truth: the goal of yoga is to still the mind so we can experience the supreme peace and joy that is our true nature.

When we soften into stillness... in body, breath, and awareness we reconnect with the part of us that is always whole, always steady, always free.

In Yin and Restorative yoga (especially), this stillness becomes a doorway inward.
A quiet space where the mind settles…
the breath becomes spacious…
and the deeper layers of ourselves rise gently to the surface.

✨ May this practice remind you of who you truly are beneath the noise.✨
✨ May it bring you back home to your own inner peace.✨

What do you feel when you allow yourself to rest in stillness?
