Recovery meets performance. 🏈✨

In this drill, UofA 🏈 player, ,is deadlifting while cups are applied to his lower back. Here’s what’s happening:

👉 The cups create space in the tissues, improving blood flow + circulation.
👉 Movement with the cups teaches the nervous system a new pattern—less tension, more freedom.
👉 The brain learns it’s safe to move through this range of motion, rewiring how the body responds to stress & load.

The result? Better mobility, less pain, and a stronger connection between brain + body.

This combo of cupping + movement is one of my favorite ways to help clients feel lighter and more at home in their body.

Cupping option to treat the QL…⁣💆🏻‍♀️

Why this option? Not every deep tissue requires a “deep tissue” solution. If the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) is amped up, aggressively targeting the QL with traditional deep tissue work might have an overall negative effect. ⁣

You might win the battle (“release” the muscle) but lose the war (perpetuate sympathetic nervous system dominance). That might be ok in some instances, but not ok in others. Context is critical..⁣

Is there significant pain? ⁣
What does the upcoming training schedule look like?⁣
Are there specific movement patterns to be changed? ⁣

This is one situation where data from wearable technology can be useful. If you’re tracking readiness trends, that’s one variable that we can consider to inform treatment choices. ⁣

If whatever readiness score you’re using says you are fried, then we may want to be more sensitive to how we’re impacting the nervous system and balance that with how we’re choosing to target specific structures. If we’re mainly dealing with tight muscle but our readiness trends are in a good spot, then maybe we’ll bias toward more deeper and aggressive approaches

Did you know that kettlebells can be used for more than just strength training!? You can do yoga and mobility with kettlebells as well!

✨I am teaching a class on Tuesdays at 6:30pm ✨

This unique class combines the precision of yoga poses with the dynamic resistance of kettlebells, stretching, and self-massage to enhance mobility, build functional strength, and achieve a harmonious balance between mind and body.

A client who has taken this class with me previously described it as “physical therapy in a group setting but still with individual attention.”

I haven’t ran in months due to multiple injuries and then many excuses but finally have gotten into a consistent routine and feeling good. I had to get past a lot of negative thoughts about my body - I felt too big and too slow and awkward compared to how it used to be; I didn’t like how my running clothes fit now.

But the important thing was just getting back out there and being consistent and now I’m running faster and more miles than I have in a long time. It feels freeing now and can’t imagine a morning not running.

If you’re a former athlete and find yourself comparing your present self to former self, reach out, and I help you take that first step getting back to moving your body.

My Story

Thank you for visiting my page! My love for fitness started since the day I could walk. Originally from Wisconsin, my dad took me down to the park to ice skate every winter. I grew to love it and ended up playing competitive hockey all through high school. During my college years, my love for horses took over and ended up with a career as a vet tech. But after a few years of that, I found my way back into the gym again. I have never been happier being back in the fitness industry and helping people improve their health and wellness. I was very fortunate to meet a great friend and mentor who has helped me grow into my business I have now, Mobility in Movement. In my training, I focus on creating proper movement and correcting any muscle imbalances. My goal for all my clients is to feel great doing the activities that they love to do and live pain free and be strong.
