Such a mixed bag of emotions. You're so happy animals are being taken care of but it's because someone is living your dream.

Willem Dafoe has traded the rush of city life for the quiet rhythm of a farm just outside Rome, where peace looks a lot like hay fields, fresh air, and muddy boots.​
His days are now spent with alpacas, sheep, chickens, and goats—animals he lovingly calls his “true family.” Each alpaca has its own quirks and personality, and caring for them has become more than a daily chore; it is a bond, a promise, and a way of living in harmony with nature rather than above it.​
Dafoe’s vegetarian lifestyle mirrors the same compassion he shows to the animals in his care, turning his home into something closer to a sanctuary than a simple farm. For him, slowing down is not about running away from the world, but about digging deeper into what truly matters, and as he puts it, his alpaca farm connects him to the cycle of life in a way fame and red carpets never could.​

PacNW Coach of the Week: Vinny La Porta

Vinny is currently Head coach for G14 Maroon, G10 ECNL, and B11 ECNL teams.

He was born and raised in Maryland, just outside Northwest Washington DC. His father, Carlo, researched, promoted, and installed solar and renewable energy systems starting in the 1970s!
His mother, Rita, was a speech therapist at Gallaudet University for 20 years, the first school in the world for the advanced education of the deaf and hard of hearing.
