Presence is not always easy. So often, I am pulled in multiple directions, and it is difficult to settle in and attend to whatever is right in front of me. Sometimes I am teaching an English lesson, but my brain is thinking about adjustments for a dance for my girls. Or, I am driving to early morning yoga, but I am worrying about how little I have slept and how long the day will be. Or, worst of all, I am talking to and spending time with the kids at night, but I am mentally distracted by the next day’s chaotic schedule. All of this takes me out of my present space and prevents me from giving my full attention. It is a constant work and a constant process. I want to do better! This is one of the reasons I love yoga. When teaching or practicing yoga, it is nearly impossible for my mind to wander. I check in with myself – my body, my mind, my soul. Join me sometime soon. Namaste.
