Babies born at UT Health East Texas this month are going home with a special holiday surprise — a festive stocking embroidered with the UT Health East Texas logo. Newborns at our Tyler, Athens, Jacksonville and Henderson hospitals get this sweet keepsake, and families tell us it becomes a treasured memory they look back on for years (especially when they can’t believe their baby ever fit inside!). UT Health East Texas Urgent Care clinics will close at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day so our team can spend time with their families.

We will resume normal hours on Friday, Dec. 26.

If you need immediate care, our UT Health East Texas emergency rooms remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For 40 years, UT Health East Texas AIR 1 has been answering the call when every second matters. As the first air ambulance service in East Texas, AIR 1 took its very first flight in December 1985—transporting a burn patient to Dallas and launching a legacy of life-saving care that continues today. From major trauma and motor vehicle accidents to heart attacks, strokes, and high-risk adult, pediatric and neonatal transports, AIR 1 delivers rapid, expert care to patients across our region—often at the most critical moments. Sweet treats have arrived! Our tiniest NICU patients were dressed as gingerbread cookies for a very special visit from Santa when he stopped by the UT Health Tyler Family Birthplace. His visit brought smiles, joy and comfort to families, reminding us of the strength, hope and little miracles that surround us every day.
