Obituaries for Tuscarawas & Surrounding Counties The following list of funeral homes is checked daily for updates.
Some funeral homes listed below are in bordering counties and oftentimes have obituaries that pertain to the counties that we service regularly. The general rule of thumb is that if the person that has passed away lives within the counties that we service or has family members residing within those counties then we will publish their obituary. The region that we service includes all of Tuscarawas, Holmes, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, and Carroll Counties and the southeast section of Wayne County. We also service lower Stark county publishing obituaries for residents south of State Route 30 as our cut-off. If the county is listed as Primary then it is one of the counties that we share 99% of their obituaries. If the county is listed as Secondary, then we browse through the obituaries to see if they have any local connections before we post them on our page. We try very hard to provide you with a link directly to the funeral homes version of the obituary so that your condolences are easier for the family to find and read at their convenience. Donald A. Little 🇺🇸
December 25, 1933 — November 7, 2025
Dover, Ohio
It is with sadness in our hearts that we must announce that Donald A. (Donnie) Little, 91, of Dover, Ohio, passed away peaceful at Amberwood Manor in New Philadelphia.
Donnie entered the world on Christmas Day 1933 in Newcomerstown, Ohio, joining older brothers Donnie loved his roots in Newcomerstown and often told of the adventures he had along with his brothers and friends as they roamed around town, through streets and alleys, going down to the river to swim and jump off “the highbanks” with his dog Kappy, and enjoying all that life had to offer in those days! He was involved in many activities in his youth, including playing sports (football, baseball, basketball, track, and even band), but he had a special love for football. He left his beloved Newcomerstown after graduation to serve his country when he enlisted as a proud member of the United States Navy. His deployment aboard the USS New Jersey took him to many ports around the world as he served during the Korean War. He often recounted tales of his journeys in those days for years to come to his family and friends. He was especially proud of the fact that the treaty to end the Korean Conflict was signed aboard his ship, the BB62 (“Big Bastard”), the USS New Jersey.

Reflecting on Paul and Esther Everhart’s tombstone, I’m reminded of the first time I remember feeling remorse for missing out on honoring someone I cared about. I was driving through Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville back in the mid 90’s when I saw Paul and Esther’s tombstone. I was mortified that I had missed Esther’s funeral. I had known this couple since I was a very little girl. When Esther went blind in her elderly years Paul would call and ask me to come to the house and fix Esther’s hair for her. I adored this couple and thought the world of them. But now they were both gone and I could not go back and honor her memory at her funeral.
Since this time frame, I have found myself in this same position multiple times because I had missed the obituary for various reasons. My hope and prayer is that this page will fill the gap by keeping myself and others better informed when an obituary is posted to our local funeral homes.
As a genealogy researcher I treasure the obituaries of my ancestors because they often answer many unanswered questions about who the family members are. This allows me to build my ancestry pages with better and more accurate information. It also allows me to honor these individuals that came before me and paved the way to a bright future. As a childless woman, I have often wondered as I work on my genealogy if I will have an obituary that tells relatives in the future that I walked this earth and how much I have loved being able to love and support those around me.
