From Seed to Medicine

There's something miraculous about starting a plant from seed. You hold this tiny possibility in your hand, tuck it into soil, and trust. Then you wait. You water. You watch.

Here I am kneeling behind my hibiscus plants with yarrow growing in front—both started from seed in my herbal medicine garden. Watching them grow from that first green shoot to this moment, ready for harvest, never gets old. It reminds me that healing takes time. Growth can't be rushed. And patience is its own kind of medicine.

These plants will soon become part of the remedies I craft for you. From seed to cup, from garden to wellness. That's the journey.

A New Chapter: Welcome to Gaia's Garden

It's been a while since I've posted, and I wanted to share what's been happening behind the scenes.

As I continue to walk through some significant health issues dealing with hereditary heart conditions, I've had to make decisions about the direction of our business. I had to choose where to focus my energy, and herbalism was the clear answer. I decided to pause hosting retreats and taking private yoga therapy clients to focus entirely on what I feel is closest to my heart: herbal medicine.

Today I'm officially introducing Gaia's Garden and our product line, Gaia's Garden Organics.

This rebrand represents a moment in my life where I have had a chance to say yes to certain things but say no to others, allowing me to truly focus on my passion for herbalism.

We live on 5 acres surrounded by medicine, and we're continuing to improve our garden and permaculture food forest—this is where we belong. This rebrand puts the primary focus on the garden and herbal medicine, giving everyone an opportunity to connect more easily to our true intention: creating effective plant medicine for the things people go through in their everyday lives.

Every tincture, flower essence, and tea blend we make comes directly from my family's own health journey. These aren't just textbook formulas.
They're blends I've created as a Clinical Herbalist to address real needs—my son's health challenges, my own wellness, and the struggles I've witnessed in our community. Each product is proof of what's possible when we work with plant medicine.

We've updated our labels to reflect this new identity, and I've renamed our flower essence line with clearer descriptions of what each one offers. The quality and care you've come to expect hasn't changed, but this has allowed time to consider in which direction I wanted to move forward on this life path.

This shift hasn't been easy, but it feels right. I'm grateful to continue this work and to share these plant allies with all of you.

Thank you for your patience and support during this transition. Here's to new beginnings and the healing that happens when we honor what our bodies and spirits truly need.

While spending time in the garden, I spotted this beautiful black and yellow orb weaver near the cherry tomato plants. These incredible spiders are gentle garden allies, helping to naturally manage pests like flies, beetles, and moths while keeping the ecosystem in balance.

In our garden, allies are always welcome. Every creature plays an important role, and the orb weaver reminds us how interwoven and harmonious nature truly is when we allow it to thrive.

If you see one in your own garden, there’s no need to relocate them, they’re here to help us and the plants flourish.

It's the most wonderful time of the year 🎶🍂🎃

But seriously, it really is. Autumn is rolling in, and I've already begun making all the pumpkin goodies! PSLs included... yes I'm one of those gals.

I'm really looking forward to fall foraging. I always have a few staple medicines that I patiently wait to receive from the Earth each fall.

What is your favorite season & why! Let us know in the comments. 💕

Love,

Every moment there are a million miracles happening around you: a flower blossoming, a bird tweeting, a bee humming, a raindrop falling, a snowflake wafting along the clear evening air. There is magic everywhere. If you learn how to live it, life is nothing short of a daily miracle.

Our first year growing potatoes, and it’s been such a joy.

We planted them in their own dedicated bed and have just begun harvesting as they’ve really started coming in. We’ve already enjoyed a few meals from them, and there’s nothing like the taste of food grown right outside your door.

Grateful for this beautiful yield and the process that led us here.

Are you growing potatoes this year? What’s your favorite way to enjoy them?

A slow and steady start, but our dreadlocks amaranth is finally starting to show off its color. The leaves fed the bugs, and now the seeds will feed us—and we’re grateful for it all.

We’ll be popping some like popcorn, grinding a little into flour, and cooking the rest like quinoa.

The sunflower patch is almost ready to open up, and the green beans gave us a sweet harvest—Onyx even joined in to celebrate.

Life in the garden is a reminder that growth has its own rhythm.

This cabbage came straight from the garden, and it’s one of the biggest we've ever grown.

There’s something deeply fulfilling about planting a seed and watching it grow into something this beautiful.

Life here at Mama Gaia’s Zen Garden is all about connecting with the earth, growing what we need, and honoring the process.

Thanks for following along with our journey.
