🌱 Grow & Go! Class Update
Yesterday’s evening Grow & Go! session was such a blast! Our theme this week was SPRING, and the kiddos were all in from the moment they walked through the door.
🐞We kicked things off with a fun book about bugs to set the tone for our spring theme. Stories like this help little ones build early language skills, attention, and imagination—such a sweet way to ease into class.
🤏Then came the big moment… our new sensory table made its debut! It was filled with all things spring. The kids practiced fine motor skills like scooping, grasping, and pinching, while also working on early language through labeling, describing, and pretend play. Sensory play is such a powerful way for kids to learn—hands-on, social, and full of curiosity.
🪂Next up: the parachute. We explored spring weather—rain, sunshine, wind—and used the parachute to bring those ideas to life. Parachute play builds teamwork, direction following, and body awareness, all wrapped up in excitement and giggles.
🍃Then we moved into gross motor play, talking about animals that live underground and the ones we start seeing as the weather warms up. Big body movement helps kids build strength, coordination, balance, and motor planning—all essential skills for everyday play and confidence.
🦋We wrapped up with a sweet craft: paper plate butterflies. The kiddos used pre‑made butterfly plates and decorated them with small pieces of construction paper to create their own beautiful spring designs. This simple setup was perfect for our group—little hands practiced pincer grasp, grasp‑and‑release, and precision gluing, all while exploring color, pattern, and creativity. It also supported early planning skills as they decided how they wanted their butterfly to look.
I love watching these little ones grow, explore, and learn through play each week.❤️
