Stal-Mac LLC "Stal-Mac LLC" has developed
"P/T Assist". These devices are for physical therapy and athletic strengthening and stretching, yoga and Pilates

Donald Stalnaker & Steve McIntyre have founded a company called "Stal-Mac LLC" - we have developed tools for physical therapy rehab and athletic stretching. We have trade marked the name “P/T Assist” to our line of "patent products". History:

Donald had rotator cuff surgery late last year and after his first rehab he noticed that his wrists and elbows were sore from the stretching exercises. He discussed with his therapist that the rod he was using would work better if the ends were flexible. Knowing that I was an engineer and a long time friend, Donald told me of the idea to make a bar with jointed ends. We discussed the general size and properties that we thought the devise should have and I proceeded to design a prototype bar that Donald showed his physical therapist. From that point on Donald and I worked in conjunction with his PT to develop more and more features into the product line to enhance its capabilities. Donald tells me, as a patient that has used our products for his personal rehab, he has a very different perspective as to how beneficial the jointed bar enabled him to increase his flexibility, also allowing greater range of movements without stressing the accompanying wrist and elbow joints. These exercise and physical therapy bars are a professional answer to wooden rods and PVC pipes. We have screw in weights that replace ankle weights that slide on the bar when performing stretches. Product description:

Short Bar- ergonomically allows shoulder rotations without stress to wrists and elbows, comes in chrome rod or aluminum. Has a center tapped hole to add screw-in weights
long bar- Also allows shoulder rotations without stress to the wrists and elbows, comes in chrome or light weight aluminum. Has (3) tapped holes to add weight to either side of the bar or to the center. weights- round steel balls in: 1/2 lb., 1 lb., 2 lb., and 3 lb sizes. weights can be screwed together to provide different combinations. weight straps- screw-in eye nuts with straps allow weights to be used in your hand with a safety strap. forearm wrist roll strap- connects to the center of the long bar and to round weights for wrist rolls
wrist/forearm rotation- we have a clamp that locks on the end of the short bar to make the handle rigid, weights can be screwed into the end to strengthen the wrist

Applications :

Besides the benefits to shoulder rehabilitation and other physical therapy exercises, we believe that these bars would be great stretching tools for any type of athletic or exercise. (baseball, football, swimmers, tennis, golf) Its rigidly allows for pushing and pulling that you can’t get from stretch bands.

We would like to thank: “Madison Wiltrout”
4 time PIAA Gold metal winner-Javelin,
for sharing her experience of recovering from Tommy-John Surgery using the P/T Assist products:

Following a serious injury to my elbow and reconstructive surgery, I was given the opportunity to use the P/T Assist. I wish I had known about it earlier in my recovery process. It is easy to use and very effective. It helped strengthen the muscles around my elbow that support my ligament. I am grateful for the P/T Assist and for Steve and Don’s referral to work with Jim Burns. Both helped me regain my strength and stability. Thank you!

Madison received her physical therapy from: Jim Burns- UPMC Centers for Rehab Services Uniontown

Are you going to a therapist that is not using the P/T Assist products for shoulder, wrist or elbow rehab?
That would be like going to a dentist that didn’t use novocaine! Think about it!

We want to thank”Timothy Truckenmiller” for passing along a testimonial of our product.

PT Assist:

I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder, and had physical therapy for several months prior to surgery, along with several weeks after surgery. My therapist worked with the PT Assist to help increase my range of motion. It’s design made it easy to use, and felt natural in my hands. I had previously used a small cane at my home to complete the exercises, but when I switched to the Pt Assist, the exercises just went more smoothly. I would recommend using this product for your recovery from injury or surgery.
