Tis’ the season where the words detox and cleanse are everywhere. Our bodies are built to naturally detox if we support them in the right way.

If you are familiar with Ayurveda we are currently in Kapha season. I picture it as the season of the frogs beginning to wake up and slowly exit the mud. We may feel congested and our digestive systems may be sluggish. It can definitely feel like it’s time for a bodily cleanse.

Before you run out and buy the next expensive supplement set or juice kit you see, try out the 10 tips below. Best part is they are all free!

- Dry brushing towards your heart (can use a washcloth)
- Tongue scraping upon waking (can use the edge of a clean metal spoon)
- Neti pot
- Pranayama (breath work)
- Sweating
- Drinking filtered water with Trace Minerals
- Getting exercise outdoors
- Eating light, fresh, seasonal foods
- Detoxing your cleaning/body products
- Spring cleaning your home

I’ve been feeling called to Gua Sha for a while now. As a longtime fan of lymphatic movement techniques such as dry brushing and oil massages it feels like the perfect addition to my routine.

For those who haven’t heard of Gua Sha yet 👀 It is a traditional Chinese healing method that involves gently scraping the skin (not just the face) with a smooth stone. This helps to increase blood flow, eliminate fluid buildup and stimulate the lymphatic system.

I stumbled across this Gua Sha stone at a crystal shop in Sedona recently and the energy of it is just so good. I’m excited to get into it!

Who are my Gua Sha fans out there? Please share your favorite techniques or how to videos!

Let’s talk chicken wings 🍗

Chicken wings get a bad reputation because they are usually fried in inflammatory oils out at a bar or restaurant. If you choose pasture-raised and prepare them at home they are the most nutrient-dense chicken you can eat.

Not only delicious, they are amazing for your joints and skin! They are loaded with collagen and glycosaminoglycans (including glucosamine, hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate).

So instead of buying that next expensive skin or joint supplement why don’t you bring some pasture-raised chicken wings into your diet?

We like to season and air fry our wings. What is your favorite way to make chicken wings?

✨Ginger Root ✨

Thanksgiving is a popular day where people traditionally overeat and then lay around in misery from overeating. So while you’re out doing your last minute food shopping pick up a piece of organic ginger root to avoid the misery tomorrow!

Ginger is great for relief of nausea, a slow digestive system, increasing bile secretion and increasing the activity of digestive enzymes.

Ginger has a long list of incredible uses outside of digestion as well! It is used as an anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and an antioxidant just to name a few.

How to make ginger tea:

Scrape the outside layer of ginger root off with the edge of a spoon, chop, and pour boiling water over. Let steep and enjoy! (2-3 cm of fresh ginger per cup of water)

🩸I am officially a Functional Blood Chemistry Specialist!

🩸 Have you had mystery symptoms or long term issues and have had doctors say “your labs are normal- you’re fine”? Blood labs can pinpoint underlying issues that may be causing you unnecessary suffering. The caveat - we must be interpreting them at the functional ranges of health not the western ranges of disease.

🩸 My offerings now include blood chemistry interpretations and blood lab ordering. Let’s work together to heal at a cellular level.
