Dust mite f***s are the major source of allergic reaction to household dust. The mites thrive on shed human skin and are most commonly found in bedrooms, where skin cells are abundant. Preventive measures include frequently laundering bed linens in hot water and removing carpets from the room. In some extreme cases, homeowners have even been forced to encase the bed mattress, box springs, and pillows in vinyl covers.

It is generally preferred to subject the substance to be controlled or reduced to the inventive gaseous atmosphere under conditions sufficient to provide an effective concentration of ozone and an effective concentration of hydrogen peroxide.
