For the last four years Dawn Marshall, owner of My Gym Nutrition, a health coaching service in Enid and Emily Buller, owner of GYM, have held a food drive to benefit the families of Garfield County through the work of Loaves & Fishes. This year they have a unique opportunity to feed the food insecure in our community due to the potential suspension of SNAP benefits. Census data from 2022 shows that there were 10,000 Garfield County residents enrolled in SNAP. The suspension of those benefits will create increased demand on our local food pantries.
They will be placing collection boxes at Emmanuel Enid, Crosspoint Church, and GYM on Saturday, November 1st, for people in the community to drop off nonperishable food items. Their team will pick up the boxes on the afternoon of Sunday, November 9th, and deliver all collected items to Loaves & Fishes - NW Oklahoma and to Coolidge Elementary School the following day.
🗓 When: Saturday, November 1st – Sunday, November 9th
📍 Where: Collection boxes at participating churches across Enid
🎯 Goal: Collect 500 lbs of non-perishable food for Loaves & Fishes NW Oklahoma
