Sundays are great recovery days. Not only are they perfect for resting from the hard work you put in during the week prior, but it also gets you ready for the week to come. Active recovery is the most beneficial because it allows you to keep your muscles loose and moving while also giving them appropriate R&R. One of my favorite ways to recover is to work on mobility, flexibility, and myofascial release. A very effective way to accomplish this (and the simplest), is to get your hands on a foam roller!

Foam rolling is a perfect way to massage and loosen up your aching, sore muscles. Foam rolling also allows you to work out any kinks/knots/trigger points and helps push out lactic acid build up to support blood flow and lymphatic drainage.

Working out during the cold winter months can sometimes be difficult. This is especially true for those of us who like to run or train outdoors. The freezing temperatures and snowy conditions are tough to tackle, but after you get moving, you'd probably surprise yourself with what you can still accomplish while exercising in the cold.

Here in New England, the winter is now upon us! 🥶 🌨☃️

This usually gets people excited for winter sports and taking advantage of activities they can only really do in cooler, snow filled months. ❄️❄️❄️

Winter also allows us to venture slightly away from traditional forms of exercise. One great example of this is by skiing and snowboarding. Other activities include snowmobiling, sledding/tubing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, backcountry skiing, hiking, and many more. ⛷🏂⛸🗻*********************************************************
Personally, I have been trying to improve my snowboarding skills, so I just returned from Colorado and hit the slopes at Breckenridge and Vail. Such a blast! ⛷🗻❄️

So I've started a new workout program and I'm currently on week 2, day 4! Feeling pretty good so far, but currently exhausted.

I've been up around 4:30-5am every day this week in order to get the workout in before work starts at 8am, and I gotta be honest, this is not easy!!

I've never been a morning person but as long as I stay consistent, I'm hoping to develop into a pattern and have this become a new norm for me. Just gotta keep pushing!

The holiday season is quickly approaching! During this time, it can be quite difficult to stick to our normal exercise routines.

Between all the friend & family gatherings, the surplus of baked goods and sweets, drinking too much spiked eggnog and holiday themed drinks, the lack of time to exercise, and pile on the stress of work and buying gifts for everyone on your holiday lists, it's easy to let our exercise time slip.
