According to a Medical Economics article, 20% to 30% of prescribed medications don’t get filled by patients, and about 50% of chronic disease medications aren’t used by patients as prescribed. The article sites that according to Today’s Geriatric Medicine, “medication management technology increases adherence an estimated 40%, potentially saving 50,000 lives and $120 billion each year.”

If there is any story you need to share, it's this one.

Safety and security, the two things most people think they have figured out. However, the unexpected can occur at any moment. This is what happened to the man in Monday's breaking news story and he trusted that everything was in order in his home. An unexpected gas leak led to an explosion, and the only thing that saved him was his medical alert device. Even though it wasn't us who protected him, we're grateful that the decision was made and he survived.
